đ§ đĽ *Is there really a difference between physical and emotional pain?*â
The brain doesnât think so. It processes both in the same regions â whether itâs a sprained ankle or a loss, stress, or deep loneliness.â
The only difference? We have been taught to respect one and ignore the other.â
Pain is pain, whether itâs in your body or mind.
Youâll feel the physical symptoms for both.
Both can make everyday tasks feel impossible. Both can isolate you. Both can limit your moods, your enthusiasm, your ability to function.
Both demand your attention.
â A pulled muscle can stop you from running â just like a tough time in your head can stop you from showing up for your partner, your work, your friends, your life.â
And when it comes to emotional pain, you push it down, hide it, or try to outwork it.â
â Emotional pain isnât âjust in your head.â Itâs in your body, your nervous system, your sleep, your relationships. It shows up in how you carry yourself, how you react, what you avoid.â
â
And just like physical pain, it signals that something needs attention. Not to be pushed away, but to be understood and resolved.â
â
The work starts when you have a place to do that.
