💙 Supporting a Fantastic Fundraising Challenge! 💙

As a Dementia Friendly Practice, Twyford Surgery is delighted to support our very own Dr Jennifer Hey, who has dedicated her time and energy to raising money for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Dr Hey has already taken on an incredible challenge — swimming, cycling and running up the highest peaks in Wales, England and Scotland! 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️

But she’s not taking the easy route just yet! 😄 Dr Hey is now taking on the Sydney Marathon to continue raising vital funds for this very worthy cause. 🇦🇺🏃‍♀️

We are incredibly proud of all the effort she is putting into supporting Alzheimer’s Research UK.

If you would like to find out more about her challenge or support her fundraising, please click the link below:

Good luck, we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way! 👏💙

As we have now fully entered into the month of August, as a training practice we now take part in the annual resident doctor change over. Up and down the country newly qualified doctors will be starting their first jobs and we wish them all well in this exciting step in their careers. Of course we hope they end up choosing General Practice as their chosen end point in the years to come!
In the meantime we have our own Resident doctor changes to share:

Dr Nair has now qualified as a full GP (with flying colours!) and we are delighted to say that she will be joining us on a permanent basis in September after a well-earned break.

Taking over from her in the training position is Dr Caitlin Kemp.
Dr Kemp has worked locally at the Royal Berkshire and Wexham Park hospitals and has 3 years experience as a doctor. She is a keen sportsperson and a talented footballer - playing for the GB Medical team whom recently competed in the Euros in Spain! Dr Kemp will be with us for 12months and will be supervised by Dr Agarwal.

We hope you join us in congratulating Dr Nair, and welcoming Dr Kemp to the team.

We're introducing a new way to contact us by phone and will trial this for the next few months.

From 5th August 2026, when you call and select the appointment option, you'll be connected to Andi — our new AI receptionist. Andi sounds natural (not robotic) and has been tried by our Patient Participation Group who gave positive feedback.

Andi will ask a series of questions to gather information about your request (similar to those asked when you complete the online form). Andi will complete an online form on your behalf and send it directly to our clinical triage team. Andi will mean no long telephone queue.

The clinical triage team will review the information alongside all online requests.

• No waiting on hold
• A clinician reviews every request
• You can still speak to a receptionist if you need to
See our website for more information.

Any questions? Speak to our team at reception, or why not try it out?

You can call the test number on +442046202662 to see what Andi sounds like and get used to it before you need it.
