📸❤️ OUR CPR SELFIE HEROES! 🫀

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been out and about at the Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Fire Station Open Days, helping members of our communities learn some potentially lifesaving CPR skills.

And we absolutely loved seeing so many of you getting involved! 🙌

From adults to children, everyone had a go at learning what to do if someone suddenly collapses — because you never know when those skills might be needed. 🫀

We even had a very special learner join us… 🐶👮‍♂️

🚒 THREE FIRE STATIONS. THREE OPEN DAYS. COMPLETED. 🚑🧡

We’ve had a brilliant few weeks getting out and about with our friends at Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Redditch Fire Stations for their Open Days! 👏

From chatting to local families and answering questions about being a Community First Responder, to getting people hands-on with CPR, it’s been fantastic seeing so many people interested in what we do. 🫀🙌

And yes… we may have spent a fair amount of time admiring the fire engines too! 👀🚒

A massive thank you to everyone who came along, stopped for a chat, had a go at CPR or simply said hello. And of course, thank you to our friends at Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service for having us along. 🧡💚

We love getting out into the communities we serve — and these events have been a great reminder of just how many people are interested in learning the skills that could help save a life.

Here are just a few of our favourite moments from the last month… 📸👇

Our volunteers Miriam and Tony have been out on duty in the community today, responding to emergency incidents alongside our colleagues from Officialwmas and helping to provide early care when it matters most.

As well as attending incidents, they also carried out checks on 17 community defibrillators, ensuring these lifesaving devices remain ready should they ever be needed.

Of course, even First Responders need to refuel! 🍔 They managed to squeeze in a quick lunch between jobs before heading back out to support the community.

Thank you, Miriam and Tony, for giving up your time to help keep North East Worcestershire safe. 💚🧡

February Round-Up 🚑

February may have been a shorter month, but our volunteers were still busy responding to emergencies across North East Worcestershire.

We attended 29 incidents in total:
🟣 7 were reported as immediately life-threatening
🔴22 were other categories of emergency

Every call we attend represents someone in our community needing urgent help. Our responders give their time, day and night, to provide early lifesaving care before an ambulance crew arrives — and that simply wouldn’t be possible without your support.

🧡💚 There’s still time to support us!
Our annual Prize Draw is open until 25 March. Every ticket sold helps fund vital equipment, training, and the ongoing costs of keeping our response vehicles on the road.

If you haven’t entered yet, now’s the time!

Today, Liam is on duty responding to 999 emergencies across North East Worcestershire — kicking off his shift in the heart of Droitwich. He’s even made a few friends!! 🐴

Every second counts in a life‑threatening crisis, and that’s where Community First Responders step in. These highly trained local volunteers often arrive before an ambulance, providing vital care when it matters most. 🧡💚

Our charity exists because of your support — every response, every life saved, every family helped… it all starts with public donations.

👉 You power this work.

Stay safe out there, Liam — and thank you for being the calm in someone’s storm. 🌟

🚑 A proud moment for our charity – our second response vehicle is officially on the road! 🚑

Last week, we were delighted to launch our second Community First Responder vehicle, a huge milestone that doubles our operational capability to attend life-threatening emergencies across North East Worcestershire, alongside Officialwmas.

This vehicle has been made possible thanks to funding from Worcestershire County Council’s Public Health Community Grant and The National Lottery. With it, our volunteers can reach more patients, more quickly, across a wider area. It will also play a vital role in helping us deliver life-saving community education, including CPR, defibrillator awareness and bleed control training.

Our Community First Responder Scheme Coordinator, Ross Harris, said:

“This funding has made a huge difference to what we can deliver. A second vehicle means we can respond to more emergencies across a much wider area, and it gives our volunteers the tools they need to save lives. The support for training equipment and community education also means we can teach more people CPR, first aid and bleed control skills. We’re incredibly grateful for the Council’s support and proud to continue serving our communities.”

We’d like to say a huge thank you to our funders and supporters, and to our incredible volunteers who give their time to help others when it matters most. 🧡💚

Together, we’re making North East Worcestershire a safer place.
