Good news! The boil water notice has now been lifted by Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water, so tap water can now be used as normal again. Thanks everyone for sharing updates and looking out for one another over the last few days.

Precautionary Boil Water Notice – lifted

The precautionary boil water notice affecting customers in parts of Rhondda Cynon Taf has now been fully lifted.

Customers in all affected areas can now use their tap water as normal, including for drinking, cooking and brushing their teeth.

The final communities to have the notice lifted are in Zone 3 - namely Trebanog, Tonyrefail, Penrhiwfer, Cymmer, Williamstown, Porth, Tonypandy and Glynfach.

We would like to thank all customers for their patience and understanding throughout this incident. We recognise the significant inconvenience this has caused, particularly during the recent spell of hot weather, and we are sorry for the disruption experienced by customers and local communities.

Sharing an important water update for those who live in the Rhondda area.

⚠️Boil Water Notice ⚠️

This affects customers living in the following areas:
Blaenllechau, Bryngolau, Cymmer, Dinas, Edmondstown, Ferndale, Hopkinstown, Llwyncelyn, Maerdy, Tylorstown, Penrhys, Pontygwaith, Porth, Pwll Gwaun, Pantygraigwen, Pontypridd – Treforest, Trebanog, Rhiwgarn, Tonyrefail, Tyn Y Bryn, Trehafod, Wattstown, Williamstown, Ynyshir.

During the course of routine checks we make on water quality, we have identified an issue with the chemical process we use to treat drinking water at our Maerdy Water Treatment Works. As a precaution, we temporarily stopped water from the site entering the network while we investigate and resolve the issue.

Customers will continue to receive water supplies and we do not expect any loss of service. However, as a precaution whilst we investigate further, we have issued a boil notice to customers served by this WTW.

Customers who are impacted are being sent a text and additional information is on our website dwrcymru.com
All customers in these areas are advised to boil their water with immediate effect before using it for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice and cooking purposes.

We are setting up bottled water stations and will provide bottled water directly to the most vulnerable customers registered on our Priority Services Register.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this will cause and are working as quickly as possible to resolve the issue safely. We will provide more information as it becomes available, check our social media channels for further updates.

After a really lovely event in Caerphilly, I’ve made a few small updates to my reading offerings and pricing, particularly for written readings which now reflect the time and depth they involve.

This is part of me making sure I can continue offering readings in a way that feels balanced, fair, and sustainable - especially as my written readings have become more in-depth over time.
