❗️Important patient information regarding the Weight Loss Tablet

A new GLP 1 weight loss tablet has recently been approved for use in the UK. It is an oral form of semaglutide, similar to the medication already used in injection form for weight management.

It is licensed for adults who meet the following eligibility criteria:
• BMI 30 or above, or
• BMI 27–30 with a weight related health condition.

At this stage, it is important for patients to be aware that this medication is not available on the NHS. It may be offered privately by some providers, but GP practices cannot prescribe it, and we are unable to arrange access, initiate treatment, or add patients to waiting lists.

💜If you have concerns about your weight or health, please contact the surgery for weight management support.
