What better way to restore and reset after a long week! Whether you've had a stressful week at work, juggling the house, the kids, or the general ups and downs of life...take time to simply lay back, close your eyes and allow the resonance of sound to take you on a journey back to a state of calm, so you're ready to hit the weekend in the best way possible!

Join me this Friday at 7:00-8:30pm at St Martins Church, Castleton for an evening of rest and relaxation.

With big memory foam, velvety cushions, mats, blankets and a beautiful venue, everything is set up and ready for you to just lay back and let go. There's a maximum of 10 spaces, for a quiet, peaceful gathering to connect, to nurture and to protect your space.

Fall into presence with the slow rhythmic beats of the shamanic drum to ground and embody you. The simple strikes of the Tibetan bowls to settle the nervous system and drop you into deeper states of relaxation. The angelic sounds of crystal bowls to quieten the mind. The sounds of the ocean drum and rainstick to embody your experience and the gentle motions of the chakapa to clear away what's no longer necessary. The native flute brings your experience together with a gentle warmth and emotion and the koshi chimes awaken your senses to bring you back feeling rested, rejuvenated and ready to enjoy your weekend exactly how you imagined.

This is not just sound, this is a curated experience to settle, ground and balance the nervous system to support you in returning to a state of self-regulation and balance.

For more information and to secure your space, please visit my website in the first comment below.

I look forward to seeing both new faces and my lovely regulars on Friday! See you then ❤

We hear it all the time: Suffering is resistance to what is.

Yeah, it’s nice on paper, but when you feel like everything is falling to pieces, being told that your resistance is causing your suffering doesn’t help much does it.

A moment ago, I was sat with my head in my hands, overwhelmed and drained. Trying to navigate neurodivergence, perimenopause, and life, everything just seemed to unravel at once. I was forcing myself to write a social post to promote a class, but my body gave me a massive, visceral NO.

With my head in my hands, I could see my life as a pile of little broken pieces, scattered around me on the floor. My immediate reaction was to pick them all up and put them back together…I wanted to fix it.

And my body reacted immediately…ugh, tightness, stress…that fingernails down the blackboard type of feeling.

So, I just stopped. I didn't pick up a single piece. I just sat on the floor with the mess that was me.

And in that exact second, the tension dropped into total ease.
Sitting there in the mess, it became crystal clear. What was there, really, to fix?

Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

Suffering isn't something to solve, it's the friction of trying to force the moment to look different. It’s not about forcing an outcome, avoiding a situation, or trying to fix what’s broken. It’s the moment we stop fighting. We realise that life is quietly holding us anyway.

It’s called, ‘The End Of Doing: Somatic Inquiry & Non-Dual Awareness

For seasoned practitioners, meditation can subtly turn into a project of quiet effort to monitor thoughts, hold a quiet mind, or sustain a specific state. This non-dual somatic meditation is designed to dismantle the habit of "doing" meditation and guide you into the natural, unconstructed space of....

If you’re using meditation to achieve something…a quieter mind, an altered state or something different to what is present right now, then you’re missing the point entirely…

The goal was never to become something different, but to realise who you already are beneath the striving, the becoming, the resisting that you believe yourself to be.

When we sit down to meditate on a day when the mind is chaotic or the body is in pain, our very first impulse is often that we just want it to go away.

23/07/2026

Meditation: Your busy mind is not what steals your peace. The distracting sounds are not what steal your peace. The uncomfortable ache is not what steals your peace. What steals your peace is the expectation that you believe they shouldn’t be there.

Join me on Friday 7th August at St. Martins Church in Castleton 7-8:30pm for an evening of effortless meditation and soundscape, and experience how non-resistance and letting go of the effort to control experience reveals a space where everything is allowed to exist without ever compromising your peace.

Bookings can be made online and the link is in the comments ❤️

"Effortless" doesn’t mean doing nothing.

When people hear about effortless living or effortless meditation, they often think it means checking out or just doing whatever we feel like.

But true non-resistance isn't apathy.

It’s how we meet our own resistance to life. The awakening process specifically, will naturally bring this resistance forward as we consciously meet the parts of ourselves that are waiting to be seen and integrated. This process is often termed ‘dropping away of the ego’.

But there’s no need to wait for an awakening to begin this process…it can begin right now.

When you are faced with a difficult experience or a task you really don’t want to engage in, the exhaustion doesn't usually come from the task itself. It comes from the inner battle, the complaining, the dread, and the judgment we heap on ourselves or others for feeling that way.

Effortless practice is realizing: "I really don’t want to do this right now…AND that feeling is completely allowed to be here."

The moment we stop fighting our own resistance to what is, the judgment drops away. We see clearly. And we can finally take action without all the exhausting internal friction that fighting the mind brings.

We still do the work, but we do it with a lighter heart.

If you’re tired of fighting your own mind and want to practice the art of moving through life effortlessly, join me this Wednesday in the practice of effortless meditation (the practice on the cushion) where I guide you from the attention of the mind into the awareness that knows no-resistance. No striving, no expectations, just a space to ground, rest, and learn to meet ourselves exactly as we are.
