✨ Twenty year old verruca... gone. ✨

Today was one of those appointments that reminds me why I love what I do.

This patient had been living with a painful plantar verruca for around 20 years.
At today's review, after carefully removing the remaining surface tissue...

It had completely resolved. 🎉

Even more interesting, two untreated thumb warts also disappeared during the healing process.

Needling isn't an instant treatment. It works by encouraging the body's own immune system to recognise and clear the virus, so patience is often the hardest part. Throughout the healing process we resisted the temptation to keep interfering with the area, allowing the immune response to do its job.

One of the most rewarding moments today wasn't just seeing healthy skin with normal skin lines return...it was the patients reaction to finally being verruca free 🥳 and the patient's husband smiling and saying:
"Fair play... she's honestly had that verruca for 20 years." 👏🥳

Comments like that make all the follow-up appointments worthwhile.

Every patient is different, and no treatment can guarantee success, but cases like this are a great reminder that even long-standing verrucae can respond.

Thank you to my patient for trusting me and the process. 👣💙

☀️ Looking after your feet in the summer heat 👣

With the warmer weather, our feet often need a little extra care. Here are a few simple tips to keep them healthy:

💧 Stay hydrated – dehydration can contribute to dry, cracked skin.

👡 Choose supportive footwear – flip-flops are great for short periods, but wearing them all day can lead to heel, arch and tendon pain.

🧴 Moisturise daily – especially your heels. Avoid applying cream between the toes, as excess moisture can encourage fungal infections.

🦶 Don't ignore blisters – keep them clean and protected to reduce the risk of infection.

🌞 Remember sunscreen – the tops of your feet are often forgotten and can burn just as easily as the rest of your body.

🏖️ Around pools and changing rooms, wear sandals or flip-flops to help reduce the risk of picking up fungal infections or verrucas.

❤️ If you have diabetes or poor circulation, check your feet every day. Any new wound, colour change, swelling or pain should be assessed promptly.

Enjoy the sunshine and take care of your feet—they're carrying you through every summer adventure! ☀️👣

Another busy week at Treat Your Feet Podiatry! 👣

Every week is different, and that's one of the things I love most about being a podiatrist.

This week has included:
✅ Verruca needling with another fantastic result – including the complete resolution of a thumb wart which disappeared after treating the foot.
✅ Nail surgery reviews showing excellent healing and happy patients.
✅ Fungal nail assessments and treatment plans to help patients regain healthy nails.
✅ Assessing and managing circulation problems.
✅ Routine foot care, biomechanics advice and helping patients stay mobile and comfortable.
✅ Advising and training Foot Health Practitioners in products, Medications and Contraindications

No two clinics are ever the same, but my goal is always the same: to identify the cause of the problem, explain it clearly, and provide the most appropriate treatment to get you back on your feet.
Whether it's something as simple as routine nail care or more advanced treatments such as nail surgery or verruca needling, every patient receives an individual assessment and treatment plan.

Thank you to everyone who continues to trust me with your foot health and for allowing me to share some of your progress (with permission). Seeing these outcomes is why I love what I do. ❤️

It's been a little quiet on here recently... but for good reason! 👣

Behind the scenes it's been one of my busiest periods yet.

Alongside looking after my wonderful patients, I've been:
✅ Developing new education for Foot Health Practitioners.
✅ Building the Clinical Safety Net education series to help improve safer decision-making in community foot care.
✅ Preparing to speak at the West Midlands Foot Health Conference on improving the early recognition of lower limb ischaemia.
✅ Continuing to achieve some fantastic patient outcomes—including more successful verruca needling cases. 👣

Everything I do has one goal...

Bridging the gap between early recognition, timely action and better patient outcomes.

Whether you're visiting me as a patient or attending one of my educational sessions, my passion remains the same: delivering evidence-informed care and helping raise standards across foot health.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Treat Your Feet Podiatry. Your recommendations, reviews and referrals really do mean the world. 💙

3 Month Verruca Needling Review Success 👣

Sometimes the most satisfying results are the simplest.

This patient underwent a single verruca needling procedure in March, she is a Nurse with a young family worried about how passing this on.

At 3-month review, skin lines have returned, the lesion has resolved, and the patient is back to normal activities without discomfort.

Verruca needling works by stimulating the body's own immune response against the virus. The treatment itself takes place in one appointment, but the healing and immune response continue long afterwards.

Every patient is assessed individually and not every verruca requires treatment, but cases like this are a great example of what can be achieved with careful assessment, realistic expectations and patience during the healing process.

Sometimes it's about more than just a toenail 👣
This patient had been struggling with a painful ingrowing toenail for many months.
Repeated courses of antibiotics provided temporary relief, but the problem kept returning and was affecting day-to-day life, mobility and confidence.

Following assessment, a nail surgery procedure was carried out and the patient has continued to be monitored throughout the healing process.

Today, he is back playing football and getting on with life again. ⚽

One of the most rewarding parts of podiatry isn't just performing a procedure—it's seeing patients regain comfort, confidence and the ability to do the things they enjoy.

Thank you for trusting Treat Your Feet Podiatry with your care. 💙

Looking Beyond Your Feet 👣

A podiatrist doesnt just look at the foot, but at the person attached to it.

Whether you're struggling with an ingrowing toenail, a verruca that won't go away, heel pain, diabetes-related concerns or changes in circulation, my role is to assess the bigger picture and help you find the right solution.

A little update from Treat Your Feet Podiatry...

It's been a busy few weeks behind the scenes!

Alongside seeing patients in clinic and on home visits, I've been developing my next educational course for Foot Health Practitioners, focusing on products, medications, interactions and safe clinical practice.
I've also recently attended the Primary Care Show, spending time exploring innovations, networking with healthcare professionals and looking at ways to improve patient care within the community.

In addition, I've been working on an exciting professional project focused on helping to bridge gaps in community foot health and support earlier recognition of concerns that may require further assessment or referral.

Whilst all this has been going on, the phone certainly hasn't stopped ringing!

Recent enquiries have included:
🦶 Ingrowing toenails
🦶 Nail surgery assessments
🦶 Fungal nail concerns
🦶 Verruca treatments
🦶 Foot pain
Thank you to everyone who continues to support Treat Your Feet Podiatry through recommendations, reviews and referrals.

🦶Another Verruca Needling Success 🦶

Many people are told verrucas will eventually disappear on their own.

Sometimes they do.
Sometimes they don't.

This patient had a persistent plantar verruca of 10 years, that had failed to resolve with OTC, acids and various other treatments.

These photographs show the progression from initial assessment, through treatment, to successful resolution.🥳

What many people don't realise is that not all verrucas respond in the same way. Factors such as age, immune response, duration, location and previous treatments can all influence outcomes

At Treat Your Feet Podiatry, treatment options are discussed on an individual basis, with management tailored to the patient and the lesion being treated.

The goal isn't simply to treat what can be seen on the surface, but to achieve long-term resolution while keeping patients comfortable throughout the process.

⭐ 11 Reviews. 5 Stars. ⭐

When I launched Treat Your Feet Podiatry, my aim wasn't simply to provide foot treatments.

It was to provide thorough clinical assessments, take the time to listen, and ensure every patient understands their condition and treatment options.

Reading recent reviews, a common theme stood out:

🦶 "A full examination was taken of both feet."
🦶 "Everything was explained carefully."
🦶 "Highly knowledgeable, professional and kind."
🦶 "Able to relieve an issue I'd had for months."

As podiatrists, we don't just treat the problem you walk in with.

We assess circulation, interpret and diagnose.
We assess nerve function.
We assess skin and nail health.
We assess risk factors.
We identify when further investigation or direct referral may be needed.

This is what I often describe as Bridging the Gap.

Bridging the gap between a patient's concern and the care they need.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their foot health and taken the time to leave a review. Your support means a huge amount to an independent business.
