I went litter picking this morning with the Rushden Higham Ferrers Litter Wombles and this time it was personal, as the alleyway runs behind my house.
Doing no harm to our environment is a key facet of yoga (ahimsa) and also acts of selfless service (sevā). But litter picking is actually a very meditative act on its own. You’re having to concentrate deeply, in the moment, and focus in on tiny parts of the world around you. Plus the physical benefits of being outdoors, moving, walking, grabbing.. so if you want to enjoy multiple yoga benefits then why not come along to the next one?
