Your body speaks to you every day. The question is… are you listening?

Fatigue, poor sleep, joint discomfort, low energy, brain fog, or frequent inflammation are often seen as a normal part of getting older. But what if they’re actually your body’s way of asking for help?

Small imbalances today can become bigger health challenges over time. The good news is that it’s never too early—or too late—to start taking better care of your health.

You don’t have to change everything overnight. Small, consistent steps can make a real difference to your long-term wellbeing.

The best time to invest in your health is today. Your future self will thank you.

If you’re curious about how to support your body at the cellular level and would like to learn more, I’d be happy to share information and answer your questions.

Do you take anything to support your gut health? 🤔

Every morning I drink 1.5 scoops of fibre, and people often ask me why.

The reason is simple – a healthy gut can influence much more than just digestion.

A well-nourished gut microbiome helps support:
🌿 Healthy digestion and regular bowel movements
🌿 Less bloating and digestive discomfort
🌿 A stronger immune system
🌿 Healthy cholesterol levels
🌿 Normal metabolism
🌿 Better communication between the gut and the brain, which may influence mood and wellbeing
🌿 A balanced inflammatory response, supporting overall health, including healthy skin, bones and joints

The fibre I use is ZinoBiotic. What makes it different is that it isn’t just one type of fibre – it contains eight carefully selected natural fibres, providing a variety of nourishment for different beneficial gut bacteria.

It also contains Lactobacillus plantarum 299v, one of the most researched probiotic strains, together with tributyrin, which helps support the production of butyrate – an important fuel source for the cells lining the gut.

Rather than simply adding bacteria, the goal is to feed and support your existing gut microbiome, helping it thrive naturally.

I’m curious… What do you use to support your gut health?

PROBIOTICS OR PREBIOTICS – WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE? 🤔

Yesterday, I talked about why our gut needs fibre. Today, as promised, let’s talk about probiotics and prebiotics – because they are not the same thing.

🦠 Probiotics are live beneficial microorganisms that can help support the balance of bacteria in our gut.

🌱 Prebiotics are the food that helps our beneficial gut bacteria grow and thrive. Many types of dietary fibre act as prebiotics.

Think of your gut as a garden. 🌿
Probiotics are like adding new plants to the garden.
Prebiotics are the food and nourishment that help the garden grow and flourish.

This is why taking probiotics alone may not always be enough. If our beneficial bacteria don’t receive the right nourishment, it can be harder for them to thrive.

Good sources of fibre include:

🥦 Vegetables
🧅 Onions and garlic
🫘 Beans and lentils
🌾 Whole grains
🍎 Fruit
🥜 Nuts and seeds

The key word is VARIETY. Different types of fibre help nourish different groups of gut bacteria.

So perhaps the question isn’t only:
“Am I taking probiotics?”

A better question might be:
👉 “Am I feeding the beneficial bacteria already living in my gut?” 🌱🦠

What about you? Do you think about how much – and how many different types of – fibre you eat each day?

I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments. 💚

🌿 WHY DOES YOUR GUT NEED FIBRE?

Yesterday, I shared a little about gut health. Today, I want to continue with one of the most important — and often overlooked — parts of supporting a healthy gut: fibre.

Many people think fibre is only important for regular bowel movements. But it does much more than that.

Fibre helps to:

✨ support healthy digestion
✨ feed the beneficial bacteria in your gut
✨ support a diverse gut microbiome
✨ help maintain regular bowel movements
✨ support normal blood sugar and cholesterol levels
✨ help you feel fuller for longer

But here is something many people don’t realise:

Many people take probiotics and believe that this alone will “fix” their gut. Probiotics contain beneficial bacteria — but these bacteria also need the right food to thrive.

This is where prebiotics come in.

Prebiotics are certain types of fibre that feed the beneficial bacteria in our gut.

Think of it this way:

🦠 Probiotics = beneficial bacteria
🌿 Prebiotics = food for beneficial bacteria

We can introduce beneficial bacteria, but we also need to create an environment where they can thrive.

And variety matters too. Different gut bacteria prefer different types of plant fibres, which is why eating a variety of plant foods is so important.

🥦 Vegetables
🍓 Berries and fruit
🫘 Beans and lentils
🌾 Whole grains
🥜 Nuts and seeds

For me, gut health is not about perfection or following a complicated diet. It is about understanding what our body needs and making small, consistent changes.

💬 Do you consciously think about getting enough fibre in your diet? And have you ever taken probiotics?

🌿 Tomorrow, I’ll explain the difference between probiotics and prebiotics in more detail — and why taking probiotics alone may not always be enough to support a healthy gut.

🌿 FROM UNDERSTANDING YOUR GUT TO SUPPORTING IT

Recently, I’ve been talking more about gut health — why symptoms don’t always tell the whole story and how testing can help us better understand what may actually be happening inside our body.

But understanding is only the first step.

The next question is: What does our gut actually need from us every day?

This topic is personal to me.

I have experienced difficult periods with my own gut health, and I know how much digestive problems can affect everyday life and overall wellbeing.

Over the past two years, I have spent a lot of time learning — attending seminars, listening to scientists and health experts, following new research, and trying to better understand the connection between the gut, nutrition and our overall health.

And one thing has become very clear to me:

We cannot expect our gut to function well if we don’t give it what it needs.

So now I want to focus on one of the most important — and often overlooked — parts of gut health:

🌱 FIBRE

Why do we need it?
Are we getting enough?
Why does variety matter?
And how can we support our daily fibre intake?

Over the next few posts, I’ll be sharing more about fibre and why it plays such an important role in supporting our gut health.

And because there is currently a special client offer available until 15 July, I’ll also share more about that very soon. 🎁

This is not just about adding another product to your cupboard.

It’s about understanding what your body needs and making informed choices for your health. 💚

🌿 Gut Health Week – Day 4

The surprising connection between gut health, immunity and overall wellbeing

Did you know that a large part of your immune system is closely connected to your gut?

Your gut does much more than digest food. The trillions of microorganisms living there play an important role in supporting your immune system, producing essential compounds, and helping maintain your body’s natural balance.

When the gut microbiome becomes unbalanced, it may affect much more than digestion. Some people experience:
✨ Low energy
✨ Bloating or digestive discomfort
✨ Weakened immune function
✨ Skin concerns
✨ Difficulty maintaining overall wellbeing

The challenge is that these changes often happen gradually, and symptoms alone don’t always reveal what’s happening inside.

That’s why understanding your gut microbiome can be a valuable first step. A home Gut Health Test provides insights into the composition of your gut bacteria and offers personalised recommendations to help support your gut health through diet and lifestyle.

Taking care of your gut isn’t just about digestion—it’s about supporting your whole body.

💚 Tomorrow, on Day 5, we’ll look at one final question:
Is a home Gut Health Test right for you?

🌿 Gut Health Week – Day 3

What can a Home Gut Health Test actually measure?

Many people experience bloating, digestive discomfort, or low energy, but don’t always know where to start looking for answers.

A home gut health test can provide valuable information about what’s happening in your gut.

It can help you understand:

✔️ How your gut bacteria and your body work together to support your overall health.

✔️ Key markers related to gut health, your immune system, and metabolism, giving a broader picture of your health.

✔️ The balance of important compounds produced through the interaction between your gut bacteria and your body, helping you better understand your gut function.

✔️ A simple Gut Health Index, making your results easy to understand instead of reading complicated laboratory data.

✔️ Personalized nutrition and lifestyle recommendations, based on your own results, with a focus on increasing fibre and polyphenol-rich foods to support a healthier gut.

✔️ Easy at-home testing using just a few drops of blood from your fingertip—no stool sample required.

Your gut plays an important role in many aspects of your health. The more you understand it, the better equipped you are to make informed choices for your wellbeing.

💚 Tomorrow: We’ll explore the surprising connection between gut health, immunity, and overall wellbeing.

Gut Health Week – Day 2
Why Symptoms Don’t Always Tell the Whole Story

Have you ever felt tired, bloated, or simply “not yourself” without knowing why?

The truth is that gut health issues don’t always cause obvious symptoms. Some people experience digestive discomfort every day, while others may have no noticeable symptoms at all, even when their gut isn’t functioning at its best.

Your gut plays an important role in many areas of your health, including digestion, nutrient absorption, immune function, energy levels, and overall wellbeing. That’s why relying on symptoms alone doesn’t always give you the full picture.

Sometimes what we feel is only the tip of the iceberg.

Understanding what’s happening inside your body can help you make more informed decisions about your nutrition and lifestyle before small imbalances become bigger challenges.

Tomorrow, I’ll explain what a home Gut Health Test can actually measure—and why so many people are curious to learn more about their gut health.

Follow along for Day 3!

Gut health – how is it usually investigated?

When people experience ongoing digestive problems such as bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation or unexplained changes in bowel habits, the first step is usually to speak to their GP.

Depending on your symptoms, your doctor may recommend stool tests, blood tests, or other investigations. If needed, you may be referred for further examinations such as imaging or an endoscopy. These tests are important because they help identify or rule out specific medical conditions.

But gut health isn’t only about diagnosing disease.

There are now ways to gain a deeper understanding of how your gut may be functioning before serious problems develop—and some of them can even be done from home.

I’ll be sharing more about this over the next few posts.
