We need to hear more from Max about the documentary. It’s not a debate if we don’t.

Trauma informed practise needs to be leading in many of our systems, and to finally see an apology from the The Royal College of Psychiatrists is welcome.

Does this mean that we will start asking "What's happened to you?" rather than "What's wrong with you" and blaming individuals for failures in systems, families and from governments.

No - but it is a start and progress in this is needed.

This is a a reply from The Flying Child - and is worth reading for a further prespective from survivors, as well as thoughts on how practise can change...

Now this is so sad - she was an icon. Just some of the best music that has for me and many others got us through so many difficult times.

A genuinely wonderful human who inspired so many people - and had the humility to support others - remembering all the time where she came from.

Rest well Dolly 💕 💕

Country music icon Dolly Parton, whose career spanned more than six decades and created enduring classics such as Jolene, Coat of Many Colours and 9 to 5, has died aged 80 ❤️

I was ableist and I’m still learning particularly about my own internalised expectations. What about you and your journey?

I really, really hope that this film is the powerful wake up call that we need to try to help Department for Education to understand the difference between:

The kids that can't go to school.

And the kids that won't go to school.

My personal view is there are very few of the later if we just take a deeper look at what is happening for them, including an relationship-based, trauma-informed, approach.

Take a look - even just the single clip here is incredibly powerful

Abnormal Psycjology - WTAF?!?!?

Sorry about the top (!) What do you think to the analogies from ADHD Chatter? Does it work for you? Suicidal feelings and diagnoses are separate right? There IS and argument for looking at our systems and how we support individuals - talking about the lack of biomarkers for this was just confusing to me… It does raise a separate point that we as a Western society might be said to be pathologising distress though and that is a debate we need to have.

My god my face in this says it all 😂😂 More thoughts following the New Scientist article on the documentary and being slightly less unwell today too
