Not sure where to go when you need urgent medical care? An Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) could be the right place. ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ’™

Urgent Treatment Centres provide medical care for illnesses and injuries that need prompt attention but are not life-threatening. They can help you get the right treatment without visiting A&E. ๐Ÿ‘

You may be able to visit an Urgent Treatment Centre for:
๐Ÿฉน Minor burns and scalds
๐Ÿค• Sprains and strains
๐Ÿฆด Minor broken bones and fractures
โœ‚๏ธ Cuts and wounds that may need stitches
๐ŸŒก๏ธ Minor infections and illnesses
๐Ÿœ Insect bites and stings
๐Ÿ‘‚ Ear and throat infections
๐Ÿค’ Fever or minor head injuries

Always call 999 or go to A&E if someone has a life-threatening emergency, such as:
๐Ÿšจ Chest pain or suspected heart attack
๐Ÿšจ Signs of a stroke
๐Ÿšจ Severe breathing difficulties
๐Ÿšจ Serious injuries or heavy bleeding
๐Ÿšจ Loss of consciousness

If you're unsure where to go, NHS 111 can help you find the right service for your needs. ๐Ÿ“ž

Staying active as you get older can help you maintain your independence, improve your balance, strengthen your muscles and bones, reduce your risk of falls, and boost your mental wellbeing. ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ

The NHS recommends that older adults should:
โ€ข Aim to be physically active every day.
โ€ข Do activities that improve strength at least twice a week.
โ€ข Include exercises that improve balance and flexibility, especially if you're at risk of falling.
โ€ข Reduce the amount of time spent sitting by getting up and moving regularly. ๐Ÿ’ช

You don't have to join a gym to stay active. Walking, gardening, dancing, swimming, gentle exercise classes or even doing household chores all count towards a healthier lifestyle. ๐ŸŒผ

Small changes can make a big difference to your health, confidence and quality of life. Why not start today? โค๏ธ

Bowel cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the UK, but when it's found early, it's much easier to treat. That's why the NHS offers bowel cancer screening to people who are eligible. ๐Ÿ’ฉ

The screening test is simple, quick and can be done in the privacy of your own home. It looks for tiny amounts of blood in your poo that you may not be able to see yourself. ๐Ÿ

If you receive your bowel cancer screening kit through the post, don't put it to one side โ€“ complete it and return it as soon as you can. Even if you feel fit and healthy and have no symptoms, taking part in screening can help detect problems early. โœ…

If you notice symptoms such as blood in your poo, a persistent change in your bowel habits, unexplained weight loss or ongoing tummy pain, don't wait for your screening invitationโ€”contact your GP. ๐Ÿ“ž

Taking a few minutes to complete your test could make all the difference. ๐Ÿ’™

Your Doctor is Calling ! Help your Trafford community spot cancer early ๐Ÿ’™
We all know someone whose life has been touched by cancer. But did you know that finding cancer early makes it much easier to treat and saves lives?
The NHS in Trafford is launching Through The Front Door. A project to set up small, patient-led cancer awareness groups right inside local GP practices.
You don't need any health background. We provide all the info, training, and support. All you need is a bit of time and a passion for looking out for your local community.
What youโ€™ll do:
1. Attend a friendly morning workshop in September 2026.
2. Help us find easy, everyday ways to talk about cancer signs and screening in your area.
3. Give as much or as little time as suits you.
Interested? Fill out our 1-minute form here: https://forms.office.com/e/RrsQAj1DZS

Looking out for your mates and family in Trafford
Blokes aren't always great at talking about health or going to the GP when something feels wrong. But catching things early makes all the difference.
Weโ€™re looking for local people across Trafford (especially men and ordinary voices who usually stay quiet on health stuff) to help us break down barriers.
You won't be doing paperwork or medical stuff. Youโ€™ll just be helping your local GP practice share simple, down-to-earth messages about spotting signs early.
The commitment? One morning workshop in September 2026 + a few hours here and there whenever youโ€™re free.
Got a minute? Drop your details here: https://forms.office.com/e/RrsQAj1DZS

==============
Keeping our families and elders safe: Cancer Awareness in Trafford
Screening checks are free, quick, and save livesโ€”yet uptake in some of our local neighbourhoods is lower than it should be.
We want to change this by working with you.
We are asking patients from South Asian and diverse community backgrounds across Trafford to join small practice-based awareness groups.
How you can help: โ€ข Help us understand why people in your community might hesitate to attend screening. โ€ข Help pass on gentle, life-saving awareness to friends, family, and community groups. โ€ข Attend a welcoming half-day session in September 2026 to share ideas.
You don't need any medical knowledgeโ€”just your heart for your community.
