Newborn feeding can feel relentless… but frequent feeding is often completely normal.

New babies are biologically wired to feed often for nutrition, comfort, regulation and connection.

Their tummies are tiny, milk digests quickly, and every feed helps build your supply.

So if your baby wants to feed again… and again… and again, it doesn’t automatically mean you’re doing anything wrong.

It may simply mean your baby is doing exactly what newborns are designed to do.

The person behind the page

I wanted to say a proper hello, not as the business, but as me.

I’m Steph, and behind Feeding Foundations is a real person who cares deeply about helping families feel heard and supported

Outside of work, I’m a mum, wife, love a good cup of tea or a cold glass of wine, asian food, spending time outdoors, travelling and being creative

I value time with my family.

The work I did in the past as an early years teacher and leader is a huge part of who I am, it instilled a passion in me to support families in the earliest stages of life.

I'm an introverted extrovert ( i like social events but can feel drained after, I prefer smaller groups or familiar faces, can be outgoing when comfortable, but need alone time after busy days)

So, hello from me. Thank you for being here, for following along, and for letting me be part of your feeding journey in whatever way I can.

Back from an incredible week with my familyCouldn't resist sharing how beautiful this place is.

According to the Infant Feeding Survey 2024, published in June 2026, ( England)

Rates of breastfeeding seem to have improved since the 2010/11 survey but due to changes in methodology, IFS 2024 results are not directly comparable with IFS 2010.

72% of mothers who stopped breastfeeding by 4–6 months wished they had carried on for longer.

Common reasons for stopping included:

• Latching difficulties
• Pain
• Worries about milk supply

If these sound like problems you’re facing, infant feeding advice can help.

Reach out for antenatal education and postnatal home visits.
