Not just a football story - it genuinely gave me a sense of pride seeing my profession represented on prime-time TV.

What stood out most was seeing performance psychology recognised at the highest level no longer as a โ€œnice to haveโ€, but as an integral part of high performance.

That feels like real progress compared to even 10 years ago, when performance psychology was still largely on the outside in many sporting environments - something you only really turned to when there was a problem.

Thereโ€™s still further to go, but itโ€™s encouraging to see the shift.

Because performance isnโ€™t built on pushing harder.
Itโ€™s built on what sits underneath: identity, fear & anxiety, communication, psychological safety and connected teams.

Itโ€™s the invisible work that often makes the biggest difference.

Bravery in performance isnโ€™t the absence of fear - itโ€™s feeling it and still trying anyway.

What a week! ๐Ÿค

Iโ€™ve just spent the past 10 days in the Lofoten Islands in Norway - somewhere thatโ€™s been on my bucket list for years and somehow still managed to be even better than I imagined.

And yes, the scenery is ridiculous. Like every few minutes I had to stop myself from saying โ€œthis doesnโ€™t even look real?!โ€

But honestly, the biggest thing Iโ€™m taking away from this trip isnโ€™t the views. Itโ€™s the pause.

Time with my Dad. Proper time. No rushing. No multitasking. No โ€œquality timeโ€ while half replying to emails in my head. Just space to talk, think, walk, eat good food and exist a bit more slowly.

Iโ€™m very guilty of operating at approximately 100 mph most of the time ๐Ÿ™ƒ Always doing, planning, thinking ahead, filling the gaps. And before I left, I remember thinking โ€œI really donโ€™t have time to take a whole week off right now.โ€

Which Iโ€™ve realised is usually the exact moment you probably need a break the most.

Thereโ€™s something about changing your environment that forces you to zoom out a bit. To process things properly instead of just moving onto the next thing immediately. And I think Iโ€™d forgotten how important that is.

Iโ€™m currently reading the book โ€˜Four Thousand Weeksโ€™ by Oliver Burkeman, which basically reminds you that we are not machines, and maybe trying to optimise every second of our lives is making us all slightly miserable?

Anyway. A reminder to myself more than anything else: the world carries on when you slow down a bit. And usually, you come back better for it.

Thereโ€™s something about hiking solo in the mountains that brings me back to myself.

14.2km through Lofoten, Norway ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ดโ€จ758m climbed.โ€จ5 quiet hours with nothing but wind, water and my own thoughts.

No rushing.โ€จNo noise.
โ€จJust the steady rhythm of my footsteps and the feeling of being completely present.

Solo hiking is my type of meditation - the type that asks nothing from you except to notice the world around you.

And up here, surrounded by these incredible mountains, I did. ๐Ÿค

Van life is back!! ๐Ÿฅนโค๏ธ

We've just bought a van to convert into a camperโ€ฆ and I honestly could not be more excited. ๐Ÿšโœจ

Some of you whoโ€™ve been here a while might remember that back in 2019, I bought and converted my first campervan - Vinnie - with the help of the brilliant Tom at Live Slow Campers. Sadly, I sold Vinnie in 2021 and genuinely thought van life was over for meโ€ฆ

Or so I thought....๐Ÿ˜…

We bought a smaller camper three years ago and have loved it, but Iโ€™ve always craved a bigger van again. The ability to be completely off-grid, the freedom to adventure wherever we want, a proper home for the spaniels (VERY important ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ˜‚), and all the facilities - loo, shower, the lot - to make longer trips comfortable and easy.

I love having a home, but I also love the feeling of taking home with you. The freedom, simplicity and adventure that comes with life on the road is something I donโ€™t think ever really leaves you.

And honestlyโ€ฆ younger me would be SO proud right now. ๐Ÿฅนโค๏ธ

Back in 2019, buying that first van felt huge. I worked so hard for years to afford it, sold a business to finance it and the experience completely changed my life. Now, six years later, weโ€™ve somehow managed to buy the dream upgrade and start all over again with an even bigger project...

So now we have a summer of building, planning and probably stressing ahead of usโ€ฆ with the goal of getting it ready for a month in the Alps this August. ๐Ÿ”๏ธโœจ

I genuinely cannot wait for the adventures ahead. Here we go againโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜

I hadnโ€™t explored this corner of the Cairngorms before, and if Iโ€™m honestโ€ฆ I was a little nervous. Especially when the venueโ€™s booked and the retreat is already sold out.

Safe to say - I didnโ€™t need to be.

Everything was even better than I could have imagined. The scenery, the hikes, the rivers and lochs for cold dips, the mountainsโ€ฆ not to mention the wildlife (red squirrels, golden eagles, hares, red deer) and the warm, welcoming feel of the gorgeous Cray House. Luxury, but cosy. Beautiful, but unpretentious. Exactly the right vibe. โœจ

Now Iโ€™m just counting down to November - I canโ€™t wait to be back for the Highland Wintering retreat โ„๏ธ

In 2022 I was running Wim Hof Method Fundamentals Workshops. At the end, people kept coming up to me asking,๏ฟฝโ€œ๐™๐™๐™–๐™ฉ ๐™ฌ๐™–๐™จ ๐™œ๐™ง๐™š๐™–๐™ฉ โ€ฆ ๐™—๐™ช๐™ฉ ๐™ฌ๐™๐™–๐™ฉโ€™๐™จ ๐™ฃ๐™š๐™ญ๐™ฉ?โ€

And honestly, at the time, I didnโ€™t have anything.

So I asked them.

"๐™’๐™๐™–๐™ฉ ๐™™๐™ค ๐™ฎ๐™ค๐™ช ๐™ฌ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™ฉ?"

And the answers were simple:

โœ… More time in nature
โœ… More movement
โœ… More connection
โœ… Something that actually shifts how I feel...

Thatโ€™s where ๐—•๐—ถ๐—ด ๐—ฆ๐—ธ๐˜† ๐—”๐—ฑ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€ came from.
