📸✨ What a fantastic few days we've had across Saint Cecilia's Care Group! ✨📸

From testing our knowledge to creating special memories, there has been plenty of fun, laughter and friendly competition! 😄

Residents at the Care Home and visitors to The Lounge enjoyed some super fun quizzes, with The Lounge putting a unique twist on things with a Jenga-inspired point scoring quiz. Every answer counted, and so did keeping that tower standing! 🧠🏆🧱

Meanwhile, residents from the Care Home headed into town for a wonderful afternoon of bowling. There were plenty of strikes, lots of smiles, and of course there was time for a refreshing drink... or three! 🎳🍹😄

Back at the Care Home, residents also spent time updating their Adventure Book, carefully cutting out amazing pictures and adding memory notes to capture some of their favourite moments and experiences. 📖✂️❤️

Well done to our care teams for continuing to create some fabulous memories for our amazing residents.

📸✨ What a fantastic couple of weeks across our homes!

Our residents have been keeping busy with plenty of fun-filled activities.

At Saint Cecilia's Care Home, the aroma of freshly baked pizza filled the air as Pat and Jijo got hands-on with pizza making, creating some delicious masterpieces 🍕👨‍🍳. There was also lots of excitement in the lounge during a competitive game of bingo, with plenty of laughs and lucky winners along the way 🎉🎱.

Meanwhile, over at Alba Rose in Pickering, the team hosted a visit from Dignity's mobile musical organ - Our residents thoroughly enjoyed listening to a wonderful selection of familiar tunes, with many singing along, tapping their feet, and sharing happy memories inspired by the music. It was lovely to see so many smiling faces!

We can't wait to share more of our residents' adventures with you soon! 😊

Earlier this year, Saint Cecilia's Care Group was delighted to sponsor the 2026 Scalby Fair Photography Competition, supporting local creativity and showcasing the incredible talent within our community.

The winning entries were displayed at Scalby Fair in June, and we are thrilled to share some of these outstanding photographs with our followers:

Masts Avast – Neil Silk
Marine Drive Railings – Peter Robinson
North Bay Chalets – Ian Hill
Scalby Beck Bridge – Peter Robinson
Flower Moon Rising Over Scarborough – Astro Dog
Freddie by Moonlight – Simon Temlett
From the Harbour – Beverley Senturk
Throxenby Mere – Ian Hill

These stunning images beautifully capture the landscapes, landmarks and character of Scarborough, and we are proud to have supported an event that brings people together through creativity and community spirit.

A special thank you to Peter Calow of the Scalby Fair Photography Competition team for kindly allowing us to share these photographs with our audience.

🌟 What a fantastic few weeks across Saint Cecilia’s! 🌟

There’s been plenty of activity, creativity and celebration happening in our homes recently. 💙

At Saint Cecilia’s Care Home, Derek has been honing his artistic talents with some watercolour painting, while Kitty has been lending a helping hand with the tea rounds. Residents also enjoyed a relaxing pamper session, thoughtfully organised by our wonderful care team. A huge well done to everyone involved! ✨

Meanwhile, at Saint Cecilia’s Nursing Home, the kitchen has been busy with some delicious cake baking, alongside lots of smiles and celebrations. 🎂🥳 A very special Happy Birthday goes to Andrew, who celebrated his 83rd birthday on 15th July!

Thank you to our residents and dedicated staff for making every day so special. ❤️

A huge thank you to Good Morning Britain for visiting Saint Cecilia's Nursing Home this morning to discuss the vital issue of Social Care Reform – an important subject that is rightly at the top of the national news agenda.

We were proud to hear from Chika, one of our dedicated Saint Cecilia's Team Leaders and Caroline, a family member of one of our residents, as they shared their honest experiences and perspectives on the realities of care today.

Our Chairman, Mike Padgham, also highlighted the significant challenges facing the sector, from the growing pressures on care providers to the increasing financial burden many families are facing.

Social care touches the lives of millions of people across the UK, and meaningful reform is long overdue. We are grateful for the opportunity to help keep this vital conversation in the national spotlight and to give a voice to those working in, relying on, and supporting the care sector every day.

Also, a special thanks to Louise at Wilson's Food Hall for supplying fresh coffees and delicious food!

The conversation doesn't stop there...
Today we've also spoken with the Yorkshire Post, BBC Radio 5 Live, and The Times, and we'll be continuing the discussion later this evening on BBC Look North. Together, we hope to keep raising awareness of the urgent need for lasting social care reform.

🌟 A few lovely moments from across Saint Cecilia’s over the last few days!

We’re delighted to share that Saint Cecilia’s Nursing Home raised an incredible £745 for their Residents’ Activity Fund at this year’s Summer Fair. 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who supported the event, and a special mention to Shelagh and Richard for their generous donation of £110. We’re also very grateful to our amazing team members Maria, Kath, Julia and Jenna, along with all the care workers and nurses who helped make the day such a success. ❤️

Meanwhile, over at Saint Cecilia's Care Home Ami and Ella enjoyed a trip to the garden centre with some of our fantastic residents. 🌷☕ The group spent the day browsing beautiful plants and gifts, while also treating themselves to coffee and a delicious cake!

Finally, a heartfelt thank you to every member of our team across all of our homes. Your dedication, compassion and hard work make a difference every single day, and we couldn’t be prouder of all that you do. 💙

🌟 A Wonderful Few Days Across Saint Cecilia’s Care Group! 🌟

It’s been another busy and heart-warming few days across Saint Cecilia’s Care Group, with plenty of fun activities and special moments to celebrate.

☀️ Jubilee House Nursing Home in Whitby hosted its annual Summer Fair on Saturday afternoon. While the weather turned a little chilly and damp, it certainly didn’t dampen our spirits! Residents, families and visitors enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of fairground-inspired fun, including Hook-a-Duck and Guess the Sweets in the Jar, alongside lots of smiles and laughter.

🎗️ We were proud to be one of the sponsors for Annette and Deanne’s 5th Charity Gala Evening at Scarborough Rugby Club. The event was a fantastic success, raising vital funds for York & Scarborough Hospitals Charity, supporting important healthcare projects across our local community.

🍒 At Saint Cecilia’s Care Home, residents marked National Cherry Day with a creative painting session. Together they created a beautiful cherry tree and added their own personal messages to the artwork, making it a meaningful and colourful celebration.

🐱 Meanwhile, at Saint Cecilia’s Nursing Home, residents were delighted by a special visit from Phoenix the cat. There were plenty of cuddles, strokes and happy faces as Phoenix made their way around the home, bringing comfort and companionship to everyone they met.

❤️ From supporting local charities to creating special memories within our homes, it’s been wonderful to see residents, families and staff coming together to make every day meaningful.
