I’ve had a great couple of days doing continuous professional development with Equi-Therapy, focusing on the application of various diagnostic tools, including:
• Pen Test Diagnostics: This technique employs a blunt-ended probe to gently track over bony landmarks. Any reactions observed provide valuable indicators of skeletal and muscular pain.
• Stress Point Reaction: By applying light pressure to the animal’s stress points, we can determine if there is tension or soreness in specific muscles.
In the video below, you can see a mare exhibiting soreness in her brachiocephalicus, stemming from tension in her shoulder. Additionally, another mare shows reactions in her sacroiliac joint and gluteal regions, emphasising the need for targeted assessment and treatment.
