πŸŽ‰ A VERY PROUD SUSSEX GRANGE MOMENT!

A HUGE well done to some of the youngest members of our Sussex Grange team, who received their GCSE results from The Academy, Selseylsey today! πŸ’š

Imogen, Charlie, Cara and Bea, we hope you know just how proud we are of you. You have worked incredibly hard and we think you’re pretty amazing, not just because of the results you achieved, but because of the brilliant young people you are and the very valued part you each play in our Sussex Grange family. πŸŒŸπŸ’š

And there is one other special member of our team who knows exactly who she is. We’re thinking of you today too and we’re every bit as proud of you. πŸ’š

We also have to give an extra special shout out to Charlie, who The Academy recognised as one of its outstanding high achievers this year, achieving an incredible Grade 9 in both English Language and Maths, alongside Grade 8s across the board! 🌟 Absolutely amazing Charlie!

Today’s GCSE results are about so much more than the grades on the page. Everyone’s journey looks a little different, and success means different things to different people. Whatever today brought, we hope every young person can take a moment to feel proud of how far they’ve come and excited about where they’re heading next. πŸ“–

And to our Sussex Grange gang, GO YOU!! We’re so very proud of you and very lucky to have you as part of our team! πŸ‘πŸΌ

Cancer in young adults is devastating, both for the people themselves, who are only just putting a foot into the adult world, and for their friends and family.
Please join us in supporting Fynn-Lee and this amazing family which is very close to our hearts.

The Hinshelwood family, many of whom have worked or are still working for Sussex Grange, received the news that Fynn-Lee was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma on 3rd December last year.

Since then he has had several months of intense chemotherapy, numerous appointments and scans and has been too poorly to work, with family members having to use hard earned savings to help out and support him.

His family has already raised vital money for charities for cancer but now an amazing member of our care home team, Amy Gates, is raising money for them to be able to spend time together as a family and get some much-needed support.

You can show your support for this amazing family here and thank you so much for reading about Fynn-Lee's story.

If you have five minutes for a sit down with a cold drink this afternoon, this is an inspiring life story from one of our much loved home care clients - Richard Lake. We had the great pleasure of chatting with him and his lovely wife Ann recently, to find out more about the places he’s been, the people he’s met and the things he’s achieved.

Today was National Lazy Day, and what better way to celebrate than a lovely chilled morning of pampering. We had facemasks, foot soaks, hand/foot and head massages, manicures. Everyone left the lounge either looking 10 years younger or feeling lighter on their twinkle toes. One resident said can we have this every day - and why not, we say! πŸ₯°πŸ˜β€οΈ

πŸ“…Twenty and a half years… Just let that sink in for a moment.

In a world where people often stay in jobs for just a few years, Victoria has dedicated more than 20 years of her life to caring for the people of Sussex Grange. Today, we said goodbye to one of our own... and what a privilege it's been to have shared that journey with her. πŸ’š

Victoria joined us in January 2006, and over those two decades we've watched her grow into a fantastic Senior Carer, admired her professionalism, kindness and dedication, and celebrated so many milestones in her life. We've seen her become a wife, then a mum... twice! We absolutely adore our little Sussex Grange babies, and it's been a joy to watch her family grow alongside ours.

Today was exactly as it should have been; a proper Sussex Grange send-off. There was, of course, a delicious Victoria sponge (it would have been rude not to!), plenty of hugs, flowers, gifts, laughter, a few happy tears, and lots of stories from across the years πŸ€—

While we're incredibly sad to see Victoria leave, we're also genuinely excited for her as she begins a new chapter. Sometimes a change really is as good as a rest, and we know she'll bring the same warmth, compassion and professionalism to her next adventure.

Victoria, thank you for every early morning, every late finish, every reassuring word, every hand held and every gentle act of kindness. Thank you for comforting people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives, supporting families when they needed someone to lean on, welcoming and mentoring new colleagues, and giving dignity, compassion and warmth right through to the very end of life. These are the moments that can't be measured, but they are the moments that matter most.

Over more than two decades, Victoria has worked alongside some truly wonderful colleagues and managers, all of whom have played a part in her journey, just as she has played a part in theirs. In turn, she has inspired countless colleagues, helped shape the high standards of care we strive for every day, and touched the lives of so many residents and families. That's what makes Sussex Grange so special, and why saying goodbye today has been so difficult.

We dug deep into the dusty archives and managed to find a few old photos, but we know there must be loads more hidden away! πŸ“Έ If you've got any favourite memories or pictures with Victoria over the years, we'd love to see them, please share them in the comments below.

From everyone at Sussex Grange, thank you for everything. You'll always be part of our story, and we'll all be cheering you on as you start your next adventure.

Good luck, Victoria. You'll always be part of the Sussex Grange family. πŸ’šπŸ‘

πŸ’š Could one day a week make all the difference?

Not everyone needs full-time care. Sometimes all that's needed is a little company, a home-cooked lunch, an enjoyable activity and a friendly face.

At Sussex Grange Care Home, our Day Care service offers older people the opportunity to enjoy companionship, take part in meaningful activities, share delicious home-cooked meals and spend time in a safe, welcoming environment, all while continuing to live independently at home.

Whether you'd like to join us once a week, several times a week or just occasionally, you'll always receive a warm Sussex Grange welcome.

We're currently welcoming new Day Guests and have good availability.

Why choose Day Care?
β€’ Enjoy companionship and make new friends.
β€’ Join in with activities, or simply relax with a cup of tea and a chat.
β€’ Freshly prepared home-cooked lunch and refreshments included.
β€’ Beautiful gardens and comfortable surroundings.
β€’ Friendly, compassionate care and support whenever it's needed.

✨ Your first day is completely free, so you can experience Sussex Grange with no obligation and see if it's the right fit for you or your loved one.

If you'd like to find out more or arrange a visit, we'd love to hear from you.

πŸ°βš“ It's a tough job... but someone had to do it! πŸ˜„

This evening we had the absolute pleasure of judging the Selsey Lifeboat Week Cake Competition, and we're not exaggerating when we say it was one of the hardest decisions we've had to make in a long time!

Every single cake looked fantastic, tasted delicious and showed just how much time, care and creativity had gone into it. Choosing the winners was incredibly difficult (although we're certainly not complaining about having to sample them all! πŸ˜‰).

A huge congratulations to everyone who took part, and thank you to the organisers for inviting us to be part of such a brilliant community event. It was lovely to judge alongside our fellow judges and to see so many people supporting such an important cause.

We were proud to donate the cash prizes, but today wasn't about us – it was about celebrating our wonderful community and supporting the incredible volunteers who help keep people safe around our coastline.

Well done to everyone involved in making Selsey Lifeboat Week 2026 another fantastic success. If you're heading along to any of the events this week, have a wonderful time and don't forget to support this amazing cause if you can.
