People love calling someone else gifted.

They rarely pay attention long enough to see what actually created the result.

They see the physique.
Not the years of refusing to miss sessions.

They see confidence.
Not the thousands of uncomfortable conversations that built it.

They see discipline.
Not the evenings where nobody was watching and the decision still went the right way.

The truth is that mastery is rarely one big moment.
It starts by understanding what matters.
Then by feeling the consequences of ignoring it.

And finally by doing the right thing so consistently that it becomes your default standard.

That is where most people stop looking.
Because standards are boring.

They are the meals nobody posts.
The workouts nobody applauds.
The books nobody sees.
The early nights.
The repeated choices that seem too small to matter.

Until one day those small standards compound into something extraordinary.

Then people call it luck.
Or genetics.
Or talent.

Anything except what it really is:
A collection of ordinary actions performed to an extraordinary standard for an extraordinarily long time.

Raise your standards long enough, and eventually people will mistake your consistency for a gift too.

Cancer treatment is demanding enough.
Nutrition should not become another problem the body has to fight through.

Surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy can increase nutritional demands while appetite falls, food tastes different, nausea develops, or swallowing becomes difficult.

The body may need more at the exact time the patient is able to eat less.

A meta-analysis of 29 randomized controlled trials involving 2,279 patients tested whether high-protein oral nutritional supplements could help close that gap.

Patients received an average of:
34 g of additional protein per day
580 additional calories per day

The findings:
High-protein supplementation was associated with 38% lower odds of treatment-related complications.

These included infections, surgical and wound complications, and treatment-related toxicities.

In practical terms:
Around 101 fewer patients experienced a complication for every 1,000 treated.

For every 12 patients receiving nutritional support, one additional complication was prevented.

Hospital stays were also slightly shorter.

Study reference:
Delsoglio M, et al. F | PMID: 41001134

Now the boundary that matters.

The supplements did not significantly reduce mortality or hospital readmission.

This does not mean protein treats cancer.

It means adequate nutrition may help some patients tolerate treatment with fewer complications.

The evidence ranged from low to moderate certainty. Cancer types, treatments, and supplement protocols varied, and the analysis was funded by a manufacturer of oral nutritional supplements.

Nutrition is supportive care.

Not a cure.
Not a replacement for treatment.
Not something to ignore until malnutrition is obvious.

Nutritional support should be individualized with the oncology team and an oncology dietitian.

Keep this within reach for the patient, family member, or caregiver who may need to understand why eating enough during treatment deserves active attention.

Women are not diagnosed with Alzheimer’s more often simply because they live longer.
That explanation is convenient. It is also incomplete.

A 2025 lipidomics study analyzed blood from 841 adults: 306 with Alzheimer’s disease, 165 with mild cognitive impairment, and 370 cognitively healthy controls.

The pattern appeared when women and men were analyzed separately.

Women with Alzheimer’s had fewer highly unsaturated lipids (the blood fats that can carry long-chain omega-3s such as DHA and EPA) and more saturated lipids. Men did not show the same pattern.

Lower levels were linked with worse memory scores and more signs of brain-cell damage and inflammation. DOI: 10.1002/alz.70512

This does not prove that low omega-3 causes Alzheimer’s.

The study looked at one point in time and measured fats in the blood, not directly in the brain.

Hormonal changes after menopause, FADS2, an enzyme that helps make long-chain omega-3 fats, and DHA transport, the system that helps deliver DHA into the brain, may explain the pattern, but the study did not prove that they caused it.

A separate review of 58 randomized trials adds an important timing question.

The most consistent cognitive signals appeared around 1,000–2,500 mg/day of omega-3 supplementation, particularly in cognitively healthy adults and trials under 48 weeks. Results varied widely, and confidence was low for several outcomes.
DOI: 10.1038/s41598-025-16129-8

The conclusion is not “fish oil prevents Alzheimer’s.”

Women may experience a different disruption in lipid biology, and waiting until cognition has already declined may be too late to think about prevention.

Build omega-3-rich foods into the diet. When using a supplement, check the actual combined EPA + DHA, not only the large “fish oil” number on the front.

Come back to this before buying your next bottle. The label sells the capsule size; the useful information is in the EPA + DHA line.

The side quest is completed. Now I move back into Super Development phase (I will upload training video here tomorrow to show you what it looks like).

I was planning to potentially have couple weeks break from any structured training but since my blood tests show that my body is close to being at its healthiest point I have scratched that idea and move straight into what I know I need - resetting the integrity of my joints and tendons to get back into high intensity training before Christmas time.

I NEVER train the same style all year round. I find it extremely counterproductive to what my outcome is - to be the size of a baby elephant with the agility of a tiger, and the endurance of African wild dog.

Which requires completely different training, nutrition, and recovery strategies.

In words of - “periodisation will set you free”

Which is exactly what I do when it comes to developing the body I want for myself. Not what others want me to look like.

And when the phase of pure hypertrophy training aligns, I will jump on stage with sparkly pants to show what my body looks like as well.

There is no “one size fits all” approach. And how I approach physical development is different to anyone else - I focus on outcomes that I have set out decades ahead. Not just months or weeks.

Which to me makes much more sense as I love life. I love living.
And for me to enjoy more of it, I have to have the body that can withstand all the weird stuff we are experiencing daily.

Just doing biceps curls and chest days won’t be enough for that outcome.

I will start posting how I actually train to get the results I want, so check back in later this week (or check my YouTube - there is a lot of what I have been doing over the years already) and let’s treat our bodies like someone we actually care about ✌🏽

Bodybuilding.

Essentially, men in sparkly pants standing on stage after being tanned completely naked by bunch of women they have never seen before, just to receive a plastic trophy based on how they look that is determined by men they have never seen before.

…yet some compare this to “war” and God knows what else.

It’s not that serious, calm down.
If you really want to make a difference, pick a different hobby.

Bodybuilding is just a fun side quest everyone should try at least once in their lifetime to test their ability to stay disciplined to absolute limits.

Because without absurd amounts of discipline you will get nowhere with this - you will get exposed very fast.

It certainly is one of the toughest things one can do that gives them total autonomy over own actions. And that kind of freedom is not something that can be achieved by doing anything else. It is ALL on you.

And if you don’t enjoy being in control of your own life where you can’t blame anyone else if you fall short - don’t do it. Or you will be another sour soul giving bodybuilding community bad rep. Uncalled bad rep, because when done right - this is the ultimate “longevity hack” ✌🏽

Pregnancy changes the training plan. It does not automatically cancel strength training.

For years, pregnant women have often been given blanket advice to avoid lifting.

That advice may sound cautious, but caution without context can become restriction without reason.

A 2025 systematic review and meta-analysis included 50 studies, 47,619 participants, and data from 14 countries.

Programmes that included resistance training were associated with:

• 58% lower odds of gestational hypertension
• 38% lower odds of gestational diabetes
• 52% lower odds of perinatal mood disorders
• 33% lower odds of macrosomia, meaning excessively high birth weight

No harmful effects were identified across the reported pregnancy, birth, or fetal outcomes.

That does not mean every pregnant woman should train the same way.

It does not mean chasing personal records, ignoring symptoms, or pretending pregnancy changes nothing.

It means the conversation should move beyond:
“Pregnant women should not lift.”

The better question is:
“How should training be adapted to the individual pregnancy?”

Load may need to change.
Range of motion may need to change.
Exercise selection may need to change.
But appropriate modification is not the same as stopping.
There is also an important limitation.

Most interventions combined resistance training with other forms of exercise, so the benefits cannot be attributed to lifting alone.

That is what responsible interpretation looks like.

The findings are encouraging without pretending the research answers every question.

Pregnancy does not remove the value of strength.

It changes how strength should be trained.
