On International Friendship Day, remember: you don’t need to have all the answers to be there for someone. A simple message, a listening ear, or a kind gesture can make all the difference. 🀝 Supporting a friend’s mental health starts with showing you care.

Sickle cell disease is a serious inherited blood disorder that predominantly affects people of African, Caribbean, Middle Eastern, and South Asian heritage.

Key symptoms include:

β€’ Painful episodes (crises)
β€’ Frequent infections
β€’ Anaemia

While there's no universal cure, treatments like pain management, antibiotics, and blood transfusions can help manage the condition.

Early diagnosis through newborn screening and awareness are crucial.

🚨 When Should You Go to A&E?
Accidents and emergencies happen – but do you know when it’s really the right time to go to A&E?

Going too early or for non-urgent issues can delay care for those in serious need. On the other hand, waiting too long can put your health at risk.
