Lake Update💙
Hi everyone,
We wanted to keep you updated on what’s happening with the lake.
As many of you know, we’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily close the lake while we deal with a naturally occurring blue-green algae bloom. Although all of our other water quality checks have come back excellent, we’re not prepared to compromise when it comes to your safety.
This is our first year at Still Water Retreat, and like many lake owners, we’re learning how the lake responds to prolonged periods of hot, settled weather. While this isn’t the update we’d hoped to share, we’re using this as an opportunity to better understand the lake and put the right long-term measures in place.
Every challenge is an opportunity to learn, and we’re committed to making Still Water Retreat better with every season.
We’re working closely with specialist consultants to identify the underlying cause of the bloom and develop a permanent solution, rather than simply treating the symptoms.
While the lake is closed, we’re not standing still. We’re working hard behind the scenes on new ideas and exciting developments for Still Water Retreat. Our aim is to create an even better experience for everyone, with plans to stay open throughout the winter, offering contrast therapy experiences, seasonal wellness sessions and themed events with great food.
We’re really excited about what’s to come and can’t wait to share more with you.
We know this is disappointing, especially during the summer, and we’re just as frustrated as you are.
Our priority has always been to create a safe, welcoming place for everyone, and we’ll only reopen the lake when we’re completely confident it’s safe to do so.
Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support. It genuinely means a lot to us. We’ll keep you updated as we make progress and let you know as soon as we’re able to welcome you back to the lake.
With thanks,
Jo & Mark
