Freestyle Libre 2+ Sensors
We are receiving reports from patients using the Freestyle Libre2+ sensors that they are coming off, or that they’re having technical issues recently. Some of this is due to the heatwave but there has been an ongoing issue with these sensors now for several months.

Locala’s clinic-in-a-van is coming to Kirklees.

Job summary

Oaklands Health Centre are looking for a friendly receptionist. We are looking for somebody who is passionate about customer care and providing patients with a positive experience whenever they contact the practice. We currently have a full time position available for 37.5 hours per week. Applicants need to be available to work anytime between our core hours of 8am and 6.30pm and be able to cover when needed our extended hours of 8pm or Saturday mornings.

Main duties of the job

Dealing with enquires from patients at the reception desk.
Dealing with enquires from patients on the telephone, including making appointments.
Effectively signposting patients to appropriate healthcare professionals.
General administration duties, i.e handling incoming and outgoing correspondence from hospitals and other healthcare providers.

Job summary

As a Dispenser at Oaklands Health Centre, you will play a vital role in ensuring our dispensing patients receive their medication safely, accurately and efficiently. Working as part of our friendly dispensary team, you will prepare prescriptions, manage stock, maintain accurate records and provide excellent customer service while supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care. We are looking for a candidate who can work 20 hours per week.

Main duties of the job

Dispense prescriptions accurately in accordance with practice procedures and legal requirements.
Process repeat prescription requests.
Maintain accurate dispensing records.
Assist with stock ordering, stock control and storage.
Ensure medicines are stored and handled safely.
Provide advice within the scope of the role and refer queries appropriately.
Work closely with GPs, clinicians and the dispensary team to provide an efficient dispensing service.

The practice will be closed from 1pm today for practice staff training. Please note our phone lines are off for the afternoon. Pre-booked appointments will still be going ahead.

A polite reminder that we are a GP practice - NOT a dumping ground for other people’s rubbish. This morning a bin bag with food waste and packaging was dumped outside our bin store.

We don’t want to moan but PLEASE do not use our premises as a dumping ground and use your own bins. The whole reason for getting secure fencing for our general and clinical waste was to try and stop this. The last thing we need are rats infesting our premises with food waste left on the floor.

Recently our skip was filled with someone else’s rubbish which meant that some of our rubbish didn’t fit in the skip so couldn’t be taken away.

PLEASE dispose of your waste in your own waste facility or go to the tip.
