🥁🌍 African Drumming Session – A Day Full of Rhythm, Smiles & Connection! 🌍🥁

Yesterday, our residents enjoyed a truly uplifting and joyful African drumming session, filled with rhythm, laughter and togetherness. ❤️

The room came alive as everyone listened, followed the beats and joined in at their own pace. There were lots of smiles, tapping hands, gentle movements and moments of connection — creating a wonderful sensory and social experience for everyone. 😊

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the session so special. The rhythm may have stopped, but the smiles stayed with us! 🥁❤️😊

🎻✨ We’re delighted to share that Jo will be back for another wonderful violin performance on 24 September, from 11:30am–12:30pm!

Our residents and families have enjoyed the beautiful classical music so much, and we’re looking forward to another special morning filled with music, memories and connection. ❤️🎶

Music is such an important part of dementia care. It can evoke treasured memories, lift spirits, encourage interaction and bring people together in meaningful ways.

We can’t wait to welcome Jo back and enjoy another beautiful performance together! 🌷🎻

🐰🦔🦎 A Wonderful Animal Interaction Visit! 🐢🐹

We had a wonderful animal interaction visit at Blythe Rose Solihull, with a fantastic hands-on experience featuring rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, a pygmy hedgehog, bearded dragon and tortoise! 🐾❤️

Our residents had the opportunity to gently interact with and learn about the animals, creating lots of smiles, curiosity and meaningful moments.

Animal visits can be especially valuable in dementia care, encouraging reminiscence, sensory stimulation, conversation and emotional well-being. The sights, sounds and textures of the animals can bring back treasured memories and create a wonderful sense of connection.

It was lovely to see our residents enjoying such a unique and engaging experience. 🥰🥰

🍪🏆 Oreo Olympics! 🏆🍪

Things got seriously competitive at our Oreo Stacking Contest! 😂

Our residents, families and staff had a fantastic time showing off their concentration, hand-eye coordination and stacking skills. 👀✋

There was plenty of laughter, teamwork and some very impressive Oreo towers… although we soon discovered that keeping the Oreos stacked was only half the challenge! 🤣🍪

Some people were focused on building the tallest tower, while others seemed to have a very different strategy… eat the evidence before anyone notices! 😋😂

A brilliant sensory activity filled with fun, laughter, concentration and, of course, plenty of Oreos! ❤️🍪

🥇 So… who do you think deserves the gold medal?

We think everyone is a winner — especially the people who got to eat the Oreos! 😂🏆🍪

🍕✨ A Wonderful Pizza-Making Sensory Session! ✨🍕

Our residents and families had a lovely time enjoying a fun and engaging pizza-making session, accompanied by relaxing music. 🎶

This was a wonderful sensory activity for our residents, allowing them to get hands-on with the dough — rolling, touching, stretching, and preparing it before adding their favourite ingredients on top. 👐🍅🧀

The soft, doughy texture, the different ingredients, and the delicious aroma of freshly prepared pizza created a lovely sensory experience. The wonderful smell of pizza baking filled the room, making everyone even more excited for the final taste! 😋🍕

It was a relaxing, enjoyable session filled with creativity, connection, smiles, and lots of wonderful memories shared together. ❤️

We celebrated the wonderful Joan as she reached this very special milestone — 90 fabulous years! 🥳🎂

Joan was surrounded by family, friends and staff, with plenty of love, laughter and birthday cheer. It was so lovely to see how happy she was as we celebrated her special day together. 💕🎈

🎶 At Blythe Rose, our residents love a trip to the concert! 🎤✨

We transform our cinema room into a theatre and play recordings of their favourite singers performing live from years gone by. It's a wonderful opportunity to sing along, dance, and relive cherished memories with friends, family, and our team. One of our residents got to have a dance with her Husband again ❤️

Music has a special way of bringing people together and creating moments of pure joy. 💃🕺❤️
