Yesterday I found a bee floating in a bucket of rainwater while I was pe***ng out washing, completely still, absolutely saturated, lifeless. She’d given up trying to escape that bucket long ago !! 😰
I scooped her out on a leaf, saw the tiniest leg twitch, and decided she deserved a chance. I blew some warm air gently over her, surrounded her with dandelions on the table, reiki (of course), kept checking on her over the course of a few hours and when it got dark I made her a cosy little box for the night in the kitchen. No massive signs of life but two legs twitching. At this point my mom would have said “kill it Shelley, put it out of its misery!” But who am I to decide its level of suffering?!
This morning I checked on her and she was all dried out, fluff springing back, wings untethered, but still incredibly wobbly. So I made her a drop of sugar water while I did my cuppa 🍃 ☕️ her little tongue came out and she drank in eagerly!
As I go to the fridge, I hear buzzing 😳
I run over to the box to see her trying to hover. Go on my girl you can do it ! 🤩 She lifted off, flew to the skylight, I opened it and she flew out into the world again. Actual heart burst moment 🩷🩷🩷
A tiny life saved 🥰
And a reminder: hope is real, it’s not for us to decide what’s good for others, and love and kindness is never wasted. 🐝💛
