💛 A HUGE THANK YOU TO THE BANANA MOON FRANCHISE TEAM! 💛

We would like to say a massive thank you to the entire Banana Moon Franchise team for their incredibly generous donation of £250.00 to The Oliver Steeper Foundation.

Every penny of this donation will go straight back into supporting our work, helping us to provide genuine LifeVac anti-choking devices to registered childcare and early years settings across the UK. Each donation we receive allows us to continue reaching more nurseries, preschools and childminders and, ultimately, helps us work towards our goal of ensuring that settings have access to this potentially life-saving equipment should standard choking first aid ever fail.

Banana Moon holds an extra-special place in our hearts, and we are incredibly proud of the relationship that has developed between our Foundation and their nursery network.

In 2025, Banana Moon launched its “Big moments, bright futures” initiative as part of its wider Bright futures safety programme. Through the initiative, and with the generous support of Eden Training Solutions, every Banana Moon nursery across the UK was equipped with a LifeVac anti-choking device, making Banana Moon one of the first major nursery groups to take such a significant network-wide step in strengthening choking emergency preparedness.

Their support didn't end with simply placing devices into their nurseries. Banana Moon has continued to support our work, raise awareness of Oliver's story and champion the importance of choking prevention, first aid and having additional emergency equipment available when first aid fails.

We then provided over 50 travel kits to Banana Moon nurseries nationwide to protect children, and staff whilst outdoors.

Relationships like this mean an enormous amount to Zoe and me personally. What began from the most devastating circumstances imaginable has developed into a shared determination to make childcare settings safer and help prevent another family experiencing the loss that led to the creation of our Foundation.

That £250 will now go straight back into our mission and help us put more LifeVac devices where they belong, in childcare settings, ready and available should they ever be needed.

LifeVac Europe are thrilled to share news that within the past few days we have helped save an incredible 14 lives within the UK, Switzerland, Australia, Canada and USA within choking emergencies! We received usage reports of helping save 7 adults and 7 children, male and female, ranging in ages from 8-months-old to 99-years-old. These were complete and partial airway obstructions with items such as Lego, toast, necklace charm, a stone, taco, chicken, pizza, a lacing bead, thickened liquid, chips and a sweet wrapper. We have kindly received a LifeVac Europe Ltd travel kit from the The Oliver Steeper Foundation.

We would love to give back and raise the cost of the kit so during the week of the 24th August 2026 will be completing a daily toddle around the village alongside partaking in some of Oliver’s favourite activities such as dancing 🕺 and a teddy bears 🧸 picnic.

All donations to our JustGiving page will go straight to the Oliver Steeper Foundation to help them achieve their goal of all early years settings receiving a LifeVac device.

LifeVac Europe are proud to introduce Rebecca from Kent - UK, our 6,451st life saved in a choking emergency! Rebecca choked on a gummy bear which caused a complete airway obstruction. This means that Rebecca could not breathe or make a sound. Rebecca self-applied LifeVac® and on the 1st application dislodged the gummy bear from her airway into the handle of her LifeVac device.

LifeVac is a non-invasive airway clearance device intended to provide an additional intervention option in the event of a choking emergency where established Basic Life Support (BLS) choking first aid techniques have been attempted and have not successfully resolved the obstruction, or where such techniques cannot be performed. It is essential to understand that LifeVac is not a replacement for recognised choking first aid or formal resuscitation training. The primary response in any suspected choking incident should always be the prompt recognition of the signs of airway obstruction, immediate activation of emergency medical services where appropriate, and the application of current, evidence-based first aid guidance.

In situations where standard first aid measures are unsuccessful in relieving the obstruction, an airway clearance device such as LifeVac may be considered as an additional means of attempting to dislodge the foreign body. However, the presence of such equipment should never be viewed in isolation as a complete emergency response strategy. Effective preparedness relies on a combination of appropriate training, situational awareness, and timely decision-making. Understanding how to identify a choking emergency, when to escalate care, and how and when to correctly utilise any supplementary equipment is just as important as having the device available.
