Clavitherapy for Children and Teenagers. Natural Support for a Growing Body

A child’s body is constantly growing and developing. Rapid growth, school, extracurricular activities, sports, emotional challenges, stress and long hours spent in front of screens can all affect a young person’s physical and emotional wellbeing.

Clavitherapy is a natural therapy that involves stimulating specific points on the body using specially designed clavics. Its aim is to support the body’s natural self regulation, improve circulation and help maintain a healthy nervous system. It is a non invasive treatment that does not involve medication or needles and may be used as part of a holistic approach to a child’s wellbeing following an individual assessment by a qualified therapist.

When may clavitherapy be beneficial?
•Stress and ongoing emotional tension
•Difficulty relaxing and excessive restlessness
•Trouble falling asleep or poor sleep quality
•Headaches and tension in the neck and shoulders
•Discomfort related to prolonged use of computers, tablets or mobile phones
•Muscle tension and back pain
•Sports related strain and overuse
•Supporting recovery after physical activity
•Fatigue and low energy levels
•Difficulties with concentration and focus
•Physical symptoms associated with prolonged emotional stress
•Promoting relaxation before exams or other important events
•Sports injuries and overuse injuries
•Bruises, sprains, muscle strains and ligament injuries
•Muscle tension following injuries
•Support for recurring functional abdominal discomfort, once medical conditions requiring treatment have been ruled out
•Supporting overall wellbeing and helping the body maintain balance

Why are more parents choosing clavitherapy?

Because it is a natural, non invasive approach that does not rely on medication and can complement medical treatment or rehabilitation when appropriate. Many parents report that their children feel more relaxed, sleep better, experience an improved sense of wellbeing and cope more effectively with everyday stress.

Every child is unique, which is why each treatment should be tailored to their age, individual needs and overall health.

The best results are achieved when clavitherapy is part of a holistic approach to health that includes a balanced diet, good quality sleep and regular physical activity.

A child’s health is an investment in their future. Sometimes, gentle support for the body’s natural processes can help young people cope better with everyday challenges and improve their overall quality of life.

Hot flushes that hit you out of nowhere, at work, in a meeting, in the middle of the night. Insomnia, even when you're utterly exhausted. Sudden mood swings that catch even you off guard. A body that's putting on weight and "stopped responding" the way it used to. Dry skin, brain fog, low libido, heart palpitations.

If you're reading this and recognising yourself, this is menopause (or perimenopause, which can go on for years before menopause even arrives). And this is exactly the stage of life where women are most often told: "you just have to get through it."

I see it differently. Menopause is a natural stage in every woman's life, and it doesn't have to mean suffering or a long list of difficult symptoms. It's a stage worth preparing the body for well in advance. Helping women get ahead of menopause, regulating the body beforehand or during perimenopause is, for me as a therapist, the most rewarding part of my work. I believe that with the right preparation and everyday care, many women can move through this time naturally and calmly, with few symptoms or none at all. My goal is to prepare the body so a woman can go through this period without the extra, unpleasant symptoms that get in the way of daily life.

Why does menopause turn everything upside down?

Falling oestrogen levels don't just affect your cycle, they affect your whole body: temperature regulation (hence the hot flushes), bone health, thyroid function, sleep quality, serotonin levels (hence the mood swings), even circulation and blood vessel elasticity. That's why the symptoms can be so varied, and why there's no single magic fix.

I work with women through this stage using three different methods, tailored individually to your symptoms and needs.

Naturopathy

We start with a detailed consultation, looking at what's going on in your body: diet, stress levels, sleep quality, and how well your liver and gut, which play a role in hormone metabolism, are functioning.

Well-chosen Western herbs such as sage, chasteberry or red clover can offer effective support, but I personally specialise in individually blended Traditional Chinese Medicine herbal formulas. These are what I work with most, because they allow the therapy to be tailored very precisely to each woman, her body and the symptoms she's experiencing. Every formula is created by me individually.

I also support the therapy with carefully chosen adaptogens, which help the body cope better with stress and support emotional balance. Depending on what's needed, I may also use phytoestrogens, natural plant compounds that support the body through hormonal change and SchĂĽssler salts, which I use to support cell nourishment and the body's natural processes. All of this is complemented by individually tailored supplementation and dietary changes, to prepare the body comprehensively for perimenopause and menopause.

Ladies, please remember that hormone therapy isn't the only path to support during menopause. There are also natural ways to support your body, carefully chosen phytoestrogens, adaptogens, herbs and other natural substances. It's worth knowing all the options available so you can choose the therapy that's the best fit for your body's needs.

Hirudotherapy (leech therapy)

Medicinal leeches are particularly effective where menopause worsens circulation: heavy legs, swelling, varicose veins, headaches or high blood pressure, which many women start noticing during this time. It supports microcirculation and helps calm chronic inflammation in the body.

Clavitherapy(needle-free acupressure)

Clavitherapy isn't just about supporting the nervous system. By stimulating specific bioactive points on the skin's surface, it also supports healthy hormonal function and the organs responsible for keeping the body in balance. It's a non-invasive method, carried out without needles, making it an excellent complement to therapy for women in perimenopause and menopause.

Which method, or combination of methods we use depends entirely on your symptoms. That's why we always start with a conversation, not a ready-made plan.

If menopause or perimenopause has just knocked on your door, or you want to start preparing your body today so you can move through this stage calmly and naturally in future, without extra unpleasant symptoms, get in touch. Let's talk about what's troubling you most, or how best to prepare your body for this stage of life, and put together a support plan tailored to your needs. At Cause Effect Therapy, I don't just focus on easing symptoms. My mission is to find their root cause, restore balance to the body, and prepare it for this natural stage of life, so menopause can become just another calm chapter of womanhood.

Endometriosis is a chronic condition in which tissue similar to the lining of the uterus grows outside the uterine cavity. It can lead to chronic inflammation, adhesions and severe pain, significantly affecting a woman’s quality of life.

The most common symptoms include:

• Severe period pain

• Pain during ovulation

• Chronic pelvic and lower back pain

• Pain during in*******se

• Heavy or irregular periods

• Spotting between periods

• Bloating, constipation or diarrhoea

• Chronic fatigue

• Difficulty conceiving

A Holistic Perspective

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), endometriosis is often understood as a stagnation of Blood and Qi within the pelvic area. The aim of treatment is to support the free flow of Qi and Blood, help calm chronic inflammation, and identify and address the underlying causes of the body’s imbalance.

According to TCM principles, the blood that should naturally leave the body during menstruation may instead remain within areas affected by endometrial lesions, where Blood stagnation develops. For this reason, treatment focuses on dispersing stagnation, promoting the circulation of Blood and Qi, and identifying the underlying cause that led to this imbalance.

In my practice, the foundation of treatment is an individually tailored nutritional approach. I often begin by guiding my clients through Dr Ewa Dąbrowska’s six week fasting programme. Depending on the body’s individual needs, I then introduce high dose vitamin C. After approximately two months, we repeat the six week Dr Ewa Dąbrowska fasting programme. The purpose of this approach is to help calm chronic inflammation, support the body’s natural regenerative processes, and restore the elasticity of blood vessels, which plays an important role in healthy circulation and tissue nourishment.

Treatment is further supported with Traditional Chinese Medicine, including individually selected herbal formulas designed to promote the smooth flow of Qi and Blood. I also incorporate Schüßler cell salts to support cellular nourishment, together with homeopathy, which is selected according to each individual’s needs.

Alongside these therapies, we work on regulating the nervous system, as chronic stress has a significant impact on hormonal balance and inflammatory processes. The next stage focuses on supporting hormonal regulation using biohormones. Treatment is further complemented by Clavitherapy, which stimulates specific points on the body to support the body’s natural regenerative processes while helping to improve circulation and organ function. In selected cases, I also incorporate Hirudotherapy to support microcirculation and the body’s natural regenerative processes.

By combining all of these approaches, I aim to provide comprehensive support for the body on its journey towards better health. My goal is not simply to relieve symptoms, but to identify the underlying cause of the problem and work towards addressing it. I believe that by resolving the root cause of imbalance, the body is given the opportunity to calm chronic inflammation, restore balance and create the best possible conditions for improved health and a reduction in the symptoms associated with endometriosis.

Pain that disrupts your daily life.

Constant fatigue. Unexplained bloating. Periods so painful they stop you from doing the things you love.

Endometriosis affects around 1 in 10 women, yet many wait years before receiving a diagnosis. Too often, women are told, “It’s just part of being a woman” or “Take a painkiller and carry on.”

It’s time to start having a different conversation about women’s health.

As a naturopath, I take a holistic approach to supporting the body. I combine naturopathy, clavitherapy and hirudotherapy, tailoring each treatment to the individual. The aim is to support your body’s natural processes and help ease the symptoms that can affect your quality of life.

Support may include:

• An anti inflammatory nutritional approach

• Supporting hormonal balance

• Helping the body cope with the effects of long term stress

• Natural therapies that encourage the body’s own restorative processes

Natural therapies can provide valuable support and help improve your comfort and overall wellbeing.

If this sounds familiar, you don’t have to face it alone.

Back pain after a long day at work? A stiff neck? Constant tension that just won’t go away?

More and more people ask me about Clavitherapy and how it works. It is a unique therapy that differs from acupuncture.

Instead of needles, a specially designed clavic is used to gently stimulate specific points on the skin without breaking its surface.

The aim is to stimulate the nervous system and support the body’s natural ability to restore balance.

Clavitherapy can be suitable for people of all ages. It is most commonly used to support people experiencing:

• Back, neck and shoulder pain

• Tension headaches

• Ongoing stress and physical or mental overload

• Persistent muscle tension

• Fatigue and difficulty relaxing

• Discomfort related to long hours at a desk or physically demanding work

• Many other conditions and concerns, depending on the individual’s needs.

For women, Clavitherapy may also provide additional support during times of hormonal change, including the menstrual cycle and menopause.

In my next few posts, I’ll be sharing more about natural ways to support women’s health, covering topics such as PMS, endometriosis, menopause, and other common concerns.

The aim of Clavitherapy is to support your body’s natural healing processes and promote overall wellbeing. Every treatment begins with a thorough consultation so I can understand your health history and tailor the session to your individual needs.

If you’re wondering whether Clavitherapy could be right for you or someone in your family, feel free to get in touch. I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have.
