I think a lot of people believe results only come from being all in 100%, never missing the gym, constantly pushing yourself, always being ‘strict’.
But honestly, from both my own experience and coaching others, that’s not what creates real long-term health (mentally AND physically).
I see people stuck in this mindset of thinking they either have to do everything perfectly or there’s no point doing it at all. And it’s VERY sad because it stops so many people from even starting, or leaves them feeling like they’ve failed the second life gets busy.
But health was never meant to feel that overwhelming!!
Yes, movement matters. Training matters. Discipline matters too. But so does actually living your life, enjoying life’s simple pleasures aka sun on your skin, and biscof on your lips 🤍
Sometimes balance looks like a gym sesh, working towards your movement goals. Other times it looks like going for a long walk outside cause it’s sunnnnny 😍, booking a random camping trip, sitting in the sun eating good food, slowing down, laughing more, resting properly, and enjoying the life you’re working so hard to build. What’s the point if you don’t get to enjoy those parts?? 🫨
I don’t think wellness should feel like punishment or constant restriction. The gym should support your life…not become your whole life.
Health isn’t just about the way we look or sticking rigidly to a routine. It’s also your energy, your mindset, your relationships, your nervous system, your memories, your happiness, and how connected you feel to yourself outside of ‘productivity’.
Honestly, the healthiest people I know aren’t the ones chasing perfection every single day. They’re the ones who’ve found peace in balance.
If you’re someone who feels overwhelmed by fitness, scared to start because it all feels too much, or frustrated because you can’t stay “perfect” all the time….you’re not failing!
You don’t need extremes to be healthy.
Small steps matter.
Doing something is still enough.
And balance is healthy too.
