We are delighted to be able to say that ..... 'The Boss' hasn't retired just yet!

We have the absolute pleasure of being able to ask him to officiate a funeral whenever a client requests, which is very often indeed. Whilst he has chosen to slow down a little, he hasn't quite hung up his hat and is still very happy to direct funerals for families who would like him to.

We're delighted that we can still call on his wealth of knowledge and experience here at Personal Choice Funerals. His experience, care and understanding are invaluable, and we are still very fortunate to have him as part of the team.

On August 18th 2026, suddenly at his home, Robin aged 83 years of Carlyon Bay St Austell. Very dear husband of Juliet, dear dad of Andrew and Claire, much loved and respected by his family and friends.

Funeral service to take place on Thursday, 3rd September 2026, 3.30pm at Glynn Valley Crematorium, Bodmin. Family flowers only, but donations if desired, for St Francis Home for Animals and the Cornwall Hospice (Mt Edgcumbe) by the donation box at the service or the chosen charity online In Memoriam page.
Black attire not a necessity.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret, aged 84 years of Tywardreath. A devoted wife of the late Stuart Hunkin, beloved mother of Ian (Deceased) and Catherine. Margaret was a cherished grandmother of Benjamin and Freya. A treasured great grandmother and will be fondly remembered by all her extended family and friends.

Margaret touched many lives with her kindness, wisdom, and gentle spirit. she will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.

Memorial service on Tuesday, September 8th, 2026, 1.30pm at
Well Street Methodist Church, Tywardreath. Donations in loving memory of Margaret in lieu of flowers, will be for the work of Well Street Methodist Church, Tywardreath via retiring collection on the day at the service

On Tuesday, 4th August 2026, Betty passed away peacefully at her home. Betty aged 97 years of Nanpean was a devoted wife to Frank (Deceased), a loving mum to Dyann, Mervyn, Derek and David (Deceased). Much loved mother-in-law to Adrian, Pam (Deceased), Karen and Sue. A proud grandmother to Richard, Mark, Bradley, Kelly, Clara (deceased), Andrea, Kimberley, Daniel, Kayleigh, Shelley and Laura. Beloved great grandmother to Olivia, Connor, Jay, Shannon, Lewis, Evie, Ruby, Amelia, Owen, Aden, Ethan, Elwin, Brodie, Keiran and Carla.

Betty’s warmth, kindness and smile touched all who knew her. She will be remembered for her devotion to family, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her.

Betty’s funeral service will take place on Wednesday, 26th August, 10am at St Stephen-in-Brannel Parish Church followed by committal at Trelawny Chapel, Penmount Crematorium, Truro

Donations in loving memory of Betty in lieu of flowers will be for the work of Children’s Hospice South West & Marie Curie Cancer Support via retiring collection on the day of the service.

Peacefully on Monday, 3rd August under the wonderful care of the team at Old Roselyon Nursing Home, Irene aged 82 of St Blazey.
Devoted wife of the late Alan Edgar. Adored mum to Fiona and Julie, and Mother-in-law to Nigel and Terry, Much loved Gran to Sheena and Gavin, Treasured Great Gran to Jonathan, Jasmin, Annabel, Evie, and Michael.
Irene will be missed by all that knew and loved her.

Funeral service to take place on Thursday, 27th August 2026 at Glynn Valley Crematorium, Bodmin at 12.30. Family flowers only please, but donations in aid of Parkinsons Cornwall can be placed in the donation box at the service. If you’d like to wear a splash of red to celebrate Irene’s life, that would be lovely.
