On Thursday, 16th July 2026, Rita passed away peacefully at her home. Rita aged 90 years of St Austell was a devoted wife to her late husband Samuel, a loving mum to Anthony, Colin, Wendy, Nigel, Denise, Tamsin Mary (twin sister of Denise, deceased) and Charmaine. Much loved mother-in-law to Christine, Jayne, Richard, Alan and Steven. A proud grandmother to Matthew, David (deceased), Jenny, Daniel, Geoffrey, Louise, Benjamin, Elliot, Samuel, Martin, Johnathon, Edward, Ryan and William. Cherished great grandmother to Chloe, Leon, Alex, Sophia, Charlotte, Jago, Joshua, Olivia, Evelyn, Sebastian, Finlay, Sienna, Oliver, Luca, Letisha, Albert, Felicity, Logan and Esmai.

Rita’s kindness, warmth and generosity touched all who knew her. She will be remembered for her devotion to family, and the joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Rita’s funeral service will take place on Monday, 17th August 11am at St. John’s Methodist Church, St Austell followed by Burial at St Austell Cemetery.

Donations in loving memory of Rita in lieu of flowers will be for the work of Cornwall Hospice via retiring collection on the day of the service.

Funeral service to be held on Wednesday, 12th August, 11.00am at
Bethel Chapel, followed by a private interment at Campdown Cemetery, Charlestown. Family flowers only requested, but donations if desired, for Marie Curie may be placed in the donation box at the service.

Marlene aged 88 years of Polgooth was a devoted wife of Sam (Deceased), a loving mum to Robert, Mandy, Andrew and Samantha. Much loved mother-in-law to Richard. A proud grandmother of Richard, Matthew, Thomas, Jayden and Kory. A great-Grandmother to Lillie-Rose. Beloved sister of Dona, Sid, Ken, Hugh, Joy, Myrna and Stella.
Marlene’s humour, empathy and warmth touched all who knew her. She will be remembered for her devotion to family.

Marlene’s funeral service will take place on Thursday, 13th August 2026 at12 noon, Trelawney Chapel, Penmount Crematorium, Truro.
