Sometimes, things just aren’t OK.

Therapy doesn’t always need to be about changing something or finding a solution. Sometimes, you simply need somewhere safe to talk about how not OK you really are.

A space to be listened to with no judgement and where feelings are validated, not dismissed, so you can begin to understand or accept what you’re experiencing and why it feels so difficult.

Therapy can be a place to be heard, understood and accepted exactly where you are.

If life feels overwhelming, you’re struggling with anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, burnout or simply know that something isn’t quite right, counselling can give you the space to explore it.

I offer person-centred, integrative counselling in Stamford, supporting clients across Stamford, Rutland, Peterborough, Market Deeping, Bourne and surrounding areas, as well as online counselling across the UK.

September can bring big feelings.

A child leaving for university.
A teenager going back to school.
A child starting secondary school.
A little one starting nursery for the very first time.

These moments can bring pride, relief, excitement, sadness, anxiety, worry, guilt or perhaps feelings you can’t quite put into words.

You might feel completely ready, or you might not. You might be worrying about how your child will cope and missing the routines you’ve shared. Wondering how things will change, or feeling unsettled by a new chapter you didn’t quite feel prepared for.

There’s no right or wrong way to feel about your child growing up.

Big life transitions can bring up big emotions for children and parents alike.

So if September feels harder than you expected, be kind to yourself. You don't have to justify your feelings simply because something is a positive milestone.

If you’re finding a transition, change or new chapter difficult to navigate, counselling can give you a safe space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface.

I offer counselling in Stamford, supporting people across Stamford, Rutland, Peterborough, Market Deeping, Bourne and surrounding areas, as well as online across the UK.

Being busy doesn’t always mean you’re okay.

Sometimes, keeping busy can be a way of avoiding the things we don’t have time or space to feel. You might fill every moment with work, family, responsibilities, social plans or simply the next thing on your to-do list.

From the outside, you might look like you're copin, but inside, how are you?

You may feel exhausted, overwhelmed, anxious, disconnected or as though you're constantly running just to keep up.

You don't have to reach breaking point before asking for support.

Counselling can give you the time and space to slow down, understand what is really going on beneath the busyness, and focus on you for a change.

I offer counselling in Stamford, Lincolnshire, supporting people from Stamford, Rutland, Peterborough and the surrounding areas. I also offer online counselling for adults across the UK.

How can I help myself feel less stuck?

That's been the theme this week.

Feel like milestone moments, and perhaps they are.

Talking about the way forward has been helpful by taking bitesize chunks at a time and asking questions like

"What would it feel like to consider the next career or job role as just the next career or job role, rather than adding such criticality to it as a major milestone or a make or break decision?"

"What feels realistic to commit to, in changing ways of living in the next week or so?"

Smaller, bitesize pieces can help us to see what we need to see and work towards a goal or work towards what we're not sure we are working towards.

Get in touch if you'd like a bit of counselling meets coaching. "Coachelling"

Why do I feel so annoyed by my partner?

Sometimes, it's helpful to understand that all our brains work slightly differently.

Sometimes, it might be something else, but all we can change is our response to stuff that we don't like - we can discuss it too, but there's no guarantee the other person will change.

Want some support in understanding why certain things wind you up so much.

Counselling can help. Get in touch for a free introductory call by clicking on the link in my bio.

“Sorry, I’m crying.”

You don’t need to apologise, tears are welcome.

You might cry because something hurts.
You might cry because you’ve finally said something out loud.
You might cry because you’ve been holding it together for far too long, or you might not even know why you’re crying.

Therapy isn’t about being perfectly composed. It’s about having somewhere safe to bring the things you might normally keep hidden.

So if you’re worried that you’ll cry in therapy, please know you don’t have to hold it together with me, and tissues are for free :)
