Does Your Child See the World Differently?
There's a Stamford family who understands — and they're here to help.
When Nick Johnston's son Joseph was five years old, he was diagnosed with global developmental delay. His behaviours were assessed as similar to those of a two-year-old. Today, Joseph is 18, studying performing arts at Melton College, and recently took to the stage at Stamford Corn Exchange to play Captain Hook. He is eloquent, sociable, and thriving.
The difference? Early intervention.
Early Intervention Network Ltd. (EIN) is a Stamford-based, not-for-profit organisation founded by Nick Johnston — a local father who witnessed first-hand the life-changing power of specialist behavioural therapy. Inspired by Joseph's journey, Nick created EIN to bring the same dedicated, play-based support to neurodiverse children right here in our community.
A network of possibilities for your child's capabilities.
EIN pairs children who have autism or developmental delays with qualified, passionate therapists for one-to-one support — at home, at school, or wherever your child feels most comfortable. Their approach is gentle, positive, and built around your child as an individual.
As Nick says: "Although it's slow and steady, the improvements are massive. The cumulative effect is incredible. And because it's through play, children look forward to sessions."
What EIN offers families in Stamford and the surrounding area:
A thorough initial assessment to understand exactly where your child is and what they need
One-to-one play-based therapy sessions using positive reinforcement
Home-based sessions that help new skills transfer naturally into everyday life
School consultation — working directly with your child's teachers to ensure consistency
Parent and carer training and support, so the whole family is part of the progress
Your child has so much potential. Every child learns differently, and EIN's team of experienced therapists — including Patricia Sto. Tomas, who holds a master's in applied psychology — believes in taking the time to understand each child as an individual. Their approach is ethical, child-centred, and results-driven. Research shows that starting young gives children the very best chance of lasting progress.
