I am blessed to be offering an experiential Earth Medicine Art Therapy session at Wild Woman Refuge during Lammas 💗🦋🌼🌳
Since pre-history our animist ancestors have used the arts as a tool for communication, expression and soul medicine. Lucinda Story is an HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist who brings her clinical skills to intuitive Earth based practice.
Lucinda leads us into this practice in circle with archetypal metaphor woven into seasonal folk law and mythology, preparing the Psyche to explore the language of the unconscious.
Once Psyche is engaged, Soma (the body) is invited into the practice, tuning our senses into the natural environment and the abundance of creative expressive potential it offers. Lucinda
holds space while we explore what psyche wishes to express; we might feel called to a nook or furrow in the Earth that beckons us to rest as our senses float effortlessly towards the signs & symbols that resonate, we might submerge out hands and feet into the depths of the feminine unconscious symbolised by the lake and discover the mud, clay and rocks we wish to sculpt with, or we may turn our attention to the gentle breeze rippling over grasses and
find ourselves engaged in the ancient art of weaving.
Following the making (or being) journey, we return to circle and to each other to reflect on our experiences. Weaving the web of the collective, perhaps offering a glimpse of our
journey, the sound of our voice, our seeing, our hearing, our embodied knowing all the while held in Earth’s embrace.
