DISCUSSION POINT…

The old saying “No Foot, No Horse” exists for a reason.

A horse’s feet are the foundation of its entire body. When hoof balance and hoof-pastern angles are correct, weight is distributed evenly through the limbs, joints, tendons, ligaments, and muscles. This allows the horse to move efficiently, comfortably, and perform at its best.

When hoof balance is compromised, even by a small amount, the effects can travel throughout the body:
🔹 Increased strain on tendons and ligaments
🔹 Joint stress and uneven wear
🔹 Muscle tension and compensatory movement patterns
🔹 Reduced performance and willingness to work
🔹 Greater risk of lameness and injury

The question is would you want your veterinary physiotherapist to point out concerns regarding your horses feet at your horse’s treatment?

I would also be interested to hear what farriers think about this too?
As a farrier do you find it think each professional should “stay in their own lane” or all work together?

Just a little reminder that on 1st June our price increase took place. I did my best to speak to as many clients as possible and post in my socials back in April about the changes.
It seems the message may have slipped through the net, so politely posting again as a little reminder 🙂
Thanks for your cooperation all 👍🏻

This big guy had his treatment ready to compete at Bramham at the weekend. He will be jumping 1.25m at the weekend in the B&C class, so his owner likes to make sure he is on top form, being the athlete he is.

We have managed to fit in a lot this week, with a large number of treatments, casework, fixing my own horse 🫣 and even having surgery myself 🤭

As always we maintain a high level of care by disinfecting all equipment between yards to minimise risk of contamination. Given the recent outbreaks of Strangles and Equine Influenza throughout Yorkshire, this will continue, as your animals health is always our main priority.
