Nadia Giannelou Counselling & Psychotherapy

Nadia Giannelou Counselling & Psychotherapy Hello:) I’m a Counsellor and Psychotherapist specialising in trauma, gender-based, and sexual violence. Sessions are available in-person in English or Greek. 🪻

I offer compassionate, non-judgmental therapy tailored to your unique needs. Hi, I’m Nadia, a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist dedicated to creating a space where you can feel truly seen and supported. I work with young adults, adults, and university students, and I specialise in trauma, sexual and gender-based violence, childhood adversity, and a wide range of emotional challenges includi

ng anxiety, depression, and identity struggles. My approach is person-centred and trauma-informed, grounded in relational and reflective practice in a way that feels honest, human, and safe. I offer a calm and compassionate space to explore whatever you're carrying, at a pace that feels right for you. Whether you're processing the weight of past experiences like abuse or neglect, or feeling overwhelmed by relationships, life transitions, or a sense of not belonging, you're not alone. With a background in integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy, and a Master’s in S*x, Gender, and Violence, I bring both strong credentials and a deep commitment to understanding the complexities of each person I work with. I understand that our mental health is shaped not only by personal experiences, but also by the wider context of our lives including the impact of trauma, gender roles, social expectations, discrimination, systemic inequalities, and violence. These experiences can shape how we see ourselves and relate to others. I welcome all parts of your story in a space that is culturally sensitive, attuned to women’s experiences, LGBTQ+ affirming, and grounded in empathy, honesty, and connection. Healing can feel hard to begin, but you don’t have to do it alone. I’m here to walk with you, wherever you are in your journey.

Two years today.

Grief changes shape, but love doesn’t.

I think about my grandma every single day.

Today I find myself reflecting not only on who she was, but on the women who came before me. Women who carried so much, often quietly. Women who gave endlessly, loved fiercely, and endured more than was ever spoken about.

My grandmother gave me so much. Her warmth, her resilience, her kindness, her generosity, and the way she opened her home and her heart to everyone around her. She taught us that love could be expressed through food, through hospitality, through caring for others, and through the quiet, everyday acts that often go unnoticed. She was the most extraordinary cook, she poured her heart and soul into every meal she made. She had a calming presence that made you feel safe, yet those of us who knew her best also knew her haste, her humor, her fiery temper at times, and her humanity that made her exactly who she was.

As I’ve grown, I’ve realized that honoring her doesn’t mean carrying everything. Some things I hold close because they continue to guide me. Others I choose to gently lay down, not as a rejection of her, but as a way of honoring both her life and my own.

She lives on not only through my story, but through the lives of her daughters, my cousins, and me. I see her in all of us, in our values, the ways we love, care, cook, gather, and continue to show up for one another. Her legacy isn’t something I remember only on anniversaries; it’s something I experience every day.

I still catch glimpses of her everywhere. In the smell of food filling a home. Around a family table. In moments of kindness. In the strength of women. In quiet moments of reflection. I see her in the way I experience the world, I think of her and I feel her presence every single day.

My practice was dedicated to her because her life continues to shape my life and my work. Every conversation, every moment of compassion, and every woman who entrusts me with her story reminds me of the generations of women whose lives have made ours possible. Every space I hold for healing is, in many ways, part of her legacy.

Thank you, Yiayia. Your story continues through mine, through our family, and through the work I have the privilege of doing every day.

Love never dies. And I will always speak of my love for you in the present tense.

Γιαγιά Άννα. Always remembered. Always loved. 🤍🩵

I’m so happy to finally share this… 💚

I’m delighted to be joining the wonderful team at Nour Wellness where I’ll be offering counselling every Thursday.

This collaboration feels like a natural fit. We share a commitment to supporting wellbeing in a compassionate, holistic way, recognising that our mental and physical health are closely connected.

I’ll be offering person-centred, trauma- informed counselling for young adults, adults and couples, supporting people through trauma, relationship difficulties, anxiety, life transitions and many of life’s other challenges.

✨ I’m also excited to be introducing something a little different.

Together with Nour, we’re offering the opportunity to combine a counselling session with Red Light Therapy as part of the same visit.

For some people, having dedicated time to pause and unwind after therapy can feel like a gentle way to transition before returning to the demands of everyday life. This optional package has been created for those who would like to care for both their emotional and physical wellbeing in one place.

Counselling is, of course, always available as a standalone service too.

I’m really looking forward to this new chapter and to welcoming both new and existing clients into this beautiful space.

I often find myself wondering how much we keep inside. How many times we say, “Just one more thing. Just one more task. Just one more day.”

In a world that glorifies productivity, do we ever pause long enough to ask ourselves what we truly need?

Today or tomorrow do one small thing just for you. Rest. Breathe. Say no. Take a walk. Whatever your heart has been quietly asking for.

You deserve the same care you so often give to everyone else. 🩵
