New government guidance on screen time for under 5s.

Guidance for under 2s
Avoid screen time other than for shared activities that encourage bonding, interaction and conversation.

Guidance for 2 to 5-year-olds
Try to keep screen time to no more than one hour a day.
Avoid at mealtimes and in the hour before bed.

Types of content
Choose slow-paced, age-appropriate content.
Fast-paced, social media-style videos and AI toys or tools should be avoided for young children.

Watching together
Watch or use screens together. It's advised to talk about what you are watching, asking questions and engaging with the content.
This is better for children's development than solo screen use.

It breaks down the symptoms into traffic lights (red being needs urgent attention) as well as showing the differences of symptoms between babies and toddlers.
