Most people do not realise this: Anxiety survives because we rarely test it.
It tells us:
• "You will embarrass yourself."
• "People will judge you."
• "Something will go wrong."
• "You will not cope."
And because the fear feels so real, we change our behaviour. We avoid. We stay quiet. We cancel plans. We seek reassurance. We play it safe.
The result?
We never discover whether the anxiety was telling the truth.
Over time, our world gets smaller while our fears get bigger.
The most powerful question you can ask an anxious thought is not "What if it happens?"
It is:
"What if it does not?"
Sometimes the freedom you are looking for is hiding on the other side of a fear you have never tested.
