It's the day of rest....How's it going?

Burnout does not always look like falling apart.
Sometimes it looks like functioning.
You still get up.
You still answer messages.
You still go to work.
You still look after everyone else.

But everything feels heavier.

Your patience is shorter.
Your concentration disappears.
Small decisions feel exhausting.
Things you normally enjoy start to feel like another task.

You may become quieter.
More irritable.
More withdrawn.
More emotional.

Or sometimes, you feel almost nothing at all.

Burnout can happen when you have been carrying too much for too long without enough rest, support, recovery or space to simply be.

And one of the hardest parts is that people often do not realise how depleted they are until their body and mind start forcing them to slow down.

Rest is not always the complete answer, but it is often part of the beginning.

So is asking for help.
Reducing what can be reduced.
Creating boundaries.
Giving yourself permission to stop operating at full capacity.

You do not have to wait until you completely fall apart before you take your exhaustion seriously.

I usually know burnout is creeping in when my patience gets shorter and my nervous system feels constantly “on.”

That’s normally my cue that I need to slow down before my body forces me to.

What is the first sign you notice when you are becoming burnt out?

In all my work with clients, my favorite moment is the moment after a long, hard road—a road filled with upheaval, chaos, grief, letting go, rebuilding—

when, suddenly, they look around at their life and realize they've become filled with color again.

Their laughter is back online.
Their long-forgotten goofiness has bubbled up.
Their creativity has emerged like a sunflower through the concrete.
Their heart—the full depth of their emotional range—has woken up.

Why? says it beautifully — because their nervous system feels safe again.

Why? Because they've shown themselves that they have their own back; that they won't abandon themselves anymore.

Why? Because they've moved through the trauma, the grief, the betrayal, the shock — and it was hard, possibly the hardest thing they've ever done, but they survived it, and now they're here. Living. Choosing.

Life transitions can be destabilizing.
When you're in the thick of them, it can feel like you've lost all of your color, forever.

But when you create a new chapter with enough safety, enough support, and enough beauty within it, it all comes rushing back.

Slow down Sunday (and every day) 🌞 😌

It's such an honour.

It's such an honour.

Someone spent years learning how to carry something alone. And somehow, here, with us, they decide they don't have to anymore.

We get to watch that moment. The exhale. The shoulders dropping. The thing finally said out loud after all that silence.

We will always remember what an absolute honor that is. 🩷

Hello. In case you can’t read my writing..
“Amidst all your fears and struggles,” said the mole,
“Your precious life waits for you.”
I’ve realised the last few weeks have made me more fearful than usual. I just drew this and thought I’d post it. Hope you’re ok wherever you are x
