Hi everyone !
Hope you have all enjoyed a beautiful summer. ☀️
Wonderfully unique Chakra Dancing and Guided Meditation sessions start again.
Tuesday 8th September.
What is Chakra Dancing?
Chakra Dancing has been running successfully in Swanage uk, for 2 years now, our regular dancers are all very welcoming.
Chakra Dancing is a free-form dance therapy that encourages the dancer to embody the music and move mindfully to music and rhythms, specially created and selected to resonate with the vibrations of each of the body’s 7 major chakras, or energy centres.
In this safely held space, Ruth invites the dancers to let go of the day to day internal chatter, to release any stress, tension and judgement, to simply dance and move expressively in their own unique way.
The experience is revitalising, rebalancing and relaxing.
Each chakra ( or energy wheel ) sits over the body’s major anatomical / physiological and endocrine systems.
Each week Ruth explains how each chakra functions in balance and the way to know if any chakras are out of balance. Although there are 100s of chakras, we focus on the 7 major chakras from our root to our crown.
Ruth invites the dancers to move to music and rhythm to open all of the body’s 7 major chakras, and focuses her class and meditation on a different chakra each week.
After the 1 hour dance, Ruth offers a deeply relaxing 20-30 minute guided meditation.
Ruth is a fully qualified Chakra Dancing and Creative Mindful Meditation Therapist trained by Chakra Dancing uk, which was founded by Lizzie Clifford over 25 years ago, and is growing in popularity throughout the uk.

What the dancers say about how Chakra Dancing & Guided Meditation Sessions have helped them:
“It felt important to share , this isn’t a dance class to just escape yourself as such and feel less - the opposite in fact and a deeper process to purify and expand one’s energy centres consciously in a safe and meaningful way. This is like a yoga in movement and action and then stillness ! Hugely impressive”
“I was nervous about attending but I’m really glad I did! – I felt very held in the space, and it was the first time in a long while that my body felt supported rather than pushed. I’ll rest up tomorrow and keep the water going, and I’ll “watch” what unfolds over the week like you suggested.”
“so nourishing”
“Completely unique. Fun, beautiful, could really let myself go in this lovely safe class, fab mix of exercise and mindful meditation , there’s nothing else quite like it in Swanage”
