Word of Caution:
Nothing smaller than your elbow should ever go inside your ears!

We recently removed this from a patient's ear in our clinic in Swansea. Needless to say, they were incredibly relieved.

Unfortunately, many online companies promote rubber screw earwax removers with exaggerated claims as a "one-stop solution" for wax blockage. However, as someone who has performed countless Microsuction procedures, I can confidently say: there is no single solution for wax occlusion.

If you're experiencing blocked ears due to excessive earwax buildup, please resist the temptation to resolve it at home. Instead, seek help from a qualified professional—ideally someone with an Audiology or ENT background who is trained in Microsuction.

For self-maintenance:
I recommend using medical-grade olive oil ear drops, but only after your earwax has been professionally removed and your healthcare provider confirms there's no infection or eardrum perforation.

When to apply it? Before bedtime.

How to apply it? Fill the ear canal and keep the oil in for 10 minutes. Alternate ears on different nights.

How often?

Once every two weeks for most people.

Once a week for those who produce excessive earwax or wear hearing aids.
