๐ WHEN IT COMES TO MEDICAL COVER, PRICE SHOULDNโT BE THE ONLY QUESTION.
Over the last almost five years, South Wales Medical Services has grown by doing things properly, consistently and professionally.
Weโve seen the industry change considerably during that time, with new providers entering the market and increasingly competitive prices being offered.
Competition is healthy. It gives clients choice and keeps established providers moving forward.
But when you are appointing a company to take responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of your customers, staff or event attendees, the cheapest quotation should never automatically be the deciding factor.
A medical provider needs more than a uniform, a vehicle and a first aid kit.
Behind every deployment should be the things you donโt necessarily see:
โ
Appropriately qualified and experienced personnel
โ
Robust clinical governance and operational procedures
โ
Appropriate insurance
โ
Safeguarding procedures
โ
Risk assessments and operational planning
โ
Suitable, maintained and properly equipped vehicles
โ
Appropriate medical equipment
โ
Staff competency and training records
โ
Infection prevention and control procedures
โ
Medicines governance where applicable
โ
Incident reporting and clinical governance
โ
Contingency and escalation arrangements
โ
Professional management and accountability
At South Wales Medical Services, these arenโt things we suddenly think about when a contract comes along. They form part of how we operate every day.
๐ EVENT MEDICAL COVER
From smaller community events and sporting fixtures through to festivals and larger public events, we can provide scalable medical resources appropriate to the event and its assessed risk.
๐ PATIENT TRANSPORT
We also provide professional patient transport solutions, with suitable vehicles, equipment and trained personnel.
๐ TRAINING
We are also a Qualsafe Centre, delivering professional regulated training from our dedicated training facilities in South Wales.
๐ฌ๐ง AND WHAT ABOUT CQC?
This is an important distinction for Welsh clients.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) regulates health and social care services in England โ it does not perform that role in Wales.
Wales has its own regulatory framework, including Healthcare Inspectorate Wales (HIW) for services that fall within its scope.
That makes proper due diligence particularly important when procuring event medical and patient transport services.
So when comparing quotations, donโt simply ask:
โHow much?โ
Ask:
Who are you sending?
What qualifications do they hold?
What clinical governance is in place?
What equipment will they have?
What vehicles are being supplied?
What insurance do you hold?
What policies and procedures support the service?
What happens when something goes wrong?
And, most importantly, can you demonstrate it?
A cheaper quote may save money on paper.
The real question is what has been removed, reduced or compromised to achieve that price?
After almost five years of providing medical services across South Wales and beyond, weโre proud of what weโve built.
The right people.
The right equipment.
The right vehicles.
The right policies.
The experience to deliver.
We wonโt always be the cheapest provider.
We donโt aim to be.
We aim to provide a service that event organisers, venues, patients and partner organisations can rely on when it matters.
