🎉 Huge congratulations to James, our Head Chef at Croft Lodge , on being named the winner in his category at the Stars of Social Care Awards 2026! 🏆

The prestigious national awards, held in London on Saturday 13 June, celebrate individuals and teams who make an exceptional difference across the care sector. James was selected from 12 finalists from across the country before being announced as the winner on the night.

James has been a valued member of the Centrum Care Homes family for six years and is a much-loved part of the team at Croft Lodge. His creativity, dedication and genuine care shine through in everything he does, helping to make every mealtime a positive and enjoyable experience for residents.

At Croft Lodge, mealtimes are about much more than food. They bring people together, support wellbeing and create a sense of home. James works closely with residents and colleagues to understand individual preferences, dietary needs and personal tastes, ensuring every meal is nutritious, meaningful and something residents look forward to.

This award is a wonderful recognition of James's passion, commitment and the positive impact he has on the lives of our residents every day.

Celebrating Learning Disability Week at Croftlodge

This week is Learning Disability Week, we are proud to celebrate and support the unique strengths, achievements, and voices of people with learning disabilities.

At Croftlodge, we are fortunate to have registration for Learning disabilities and are dedicated to empowering our residents, promoting independence, and ensuring that everyone is treated with dignity, respect, and equality.

We are committed to supporting all of our residents, including those with learning disabilities and those living with dementia, helping them to live fulfilling lives, make choices, and be active members of our community.

Together, we celebrate inclusion, empowerment, and the value that every individual brings to our home.

Everyone at Croft Lodge would like to wish our amazing chef, James, the very best of luck this Saturday at the Care Awards! 🌟

James has reached the finals in recognition of the outstanding meals he prepares for our residents every day. His dedication, creativity, and passion for providing delicious, nutritious food make a real difference to the lives of those we care for.

We are incredibly proud of everything James has achieved and would like to personally thank him for the positive impact he has on our residents and our home. 👏

Although I'm currently on annual leave, I'll be thinking of James and all of the Centrum Care Homes finalists from Beacon House as they attend the awards. We are all rooting for you and wishing you every success!

When the chefs were away, the residents and staff at Croft Lodge decided it was the perfect time for a special treat — a trip to the local fish and chip shop!

The residents thoroughly enjoyed their fish and chips, with many saying it brought back happy memories of seaside trips and family meals. Days like these are so important for creating special moments, encouraging social interaction, and bringing joy to everyone at Centrum Care - Croft Lodge

Residents, staff and family enjoyed a lovely afternoon together in the sunshine today, making the most of the beautiful weather with some refreshing ice lollies ☀️🍦

There were lots of smiles, laughter and happy conversations as everyone relaxed outdoors and enjoyed spending time together. It was wonderful to see residents, loved ones and staff all coming together to enjoy the warm sunshine and create more special memories.

Simple moments like these can bring so much joy, and today was certainly filled with plenty of happiness all round!

Today, Centrum Care Homes are proudly celebrating 8 wonderful years! 🎉

Eight years ago, Centrum Care purchased our first two homes in Teignmouth. Through dedication, passion, teamwork, and a huge amount of hard work, both homes have gone from strength to strength and achieved their Good CQC ratings — something we are incredibly proud of.

Since then, we have continued to grow, welcoming four more homes into the Centrum Care family — one in Dartmouth, two in South Brent, and most recently, Estuary View.

What an amazing achievement this has been for everyone involved. None of this would have been possible without our fantastic teams, supportive families, and wonderful residents who make our homes so special every single day.

Here’s to celebrating how far we’ve come and looking forward to many more successful years ahead! 💙

Whether it’s a short walk, a moment in the sunshine, or simply sitting and enjoying the surroundings, these everyday experiences play an important role in supporting wellbeing and quality of life.

We continue to encourage independence in a way that feels safe and comfortable for each individual, supporting choice, confidence, and enjoyment in daily routines 🌿
