I’m not actually a very confident person.

I know… probably not what you’d expect from someone who supports mental health day in day out to be anxious themselves…

But the truth is, I’m anxious a LOT of the time.

I’m a people pleaser.
I overthink.
I worry about what people think of me.
And I can very easily talk myself out of things because my brain starts telling me all the reasons I shouldn’t do them.

So going to Glammies on my own?

That was HUGE for me.

I barely knew anyone. I was walking into a room full of people I’d never met, completely out of my comfort zone, and honestly… there were plenty of anxious thoughts beforehand!

But I went.

And do you know what?

I had the BEST time. ❤️

And it reminded me of something I teach the children I work with every single day:

When we constantly avoid the things that make us anxious, we teach our brains that those things really are something to be scared of.

The unknown feels scary.
Irrational fears feel very real.
Anxiety can convince us that something terrible is going to happen.

But sometimes, the only way to show our brains that we CAN cope…

…is to do the thing anyway.

Not because we suddenly stop feeling anxious.

But because we learn that we can feel anxious AND still be brave.

I didn’t magically become a confident person at Glammies.

I just pushed through the anxious thoughts, stepped outside my comfort zone and gave myself the opportunity to find out what might happen if I stopped letting fear make the decision for me.

And maybe that’s something I need to remind myself of more often too. 🥹

You don’t have to feel fearless to be brave.

Sometimes bravery is simply saying:

“I’m scared… but I’m going anyway.” ❤️

The kids are off school, holidays are booked, routines disappear… and somehow we end up putting ourselves to the bottom of the list.

That’s why I’m opening up a small number of 6-week counselling blocks that can be used anytime between now and 30th October. If you’re away for a week or two, that’s absolutely fine—we’ll work around it.

✨ 6 x 1-hour counselling sessions
✨ £250
✨ Based in Telford
✨ For children (7+) through to adults

Counselling isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about having a safe space where you can be heard without judgement, make sense of what’s going on, and learn ways to move forward.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or simply know something needs to change, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

There are only a handful of spaces available, so if you’ve been thinking, “Maybe now is the time,” I’d love to hear from you.
