We've had a busy and inspiring World Heart Rhythm Week! ❤️

Our Medical Director, Professor Aneil Malhotra, delivered an insightful presentation at the British Society of Cardiology, where he delivered a presentation on identifying abnormalities in ECG T waves and distinguishing between benign adaptations and potential cardiomyopathies.

Meanwhile, we attended Liverpool FA's She Inspires event, speaking with teachers and students about the importance of cardiac screening and how schools can get involved in protecting young hearts through screening initiatives.

We're proud to continue raising awareness of heart health and helping organisations deliver in-house cardiac screening programmes supported by our team.

Together, we can help detect heart conditions early and save lives.

The first 200...

🎉 A Fantastic Milestone for North Riding County FA! 🎉

We're proud to celebrate an incredible achievement as North Riding County FA reaches 200 young players screened through our cardiac screening programme.

A huge thank you to the FA, clubs, coaches, players, and parents who have supported the programme so far, including:

⚽ Bishopthorpe White Rose FC Girls U14s
⚽ Evolution Ladies & Academy
⚽ Hamilton Panthers U14s
⚽ York City Ladies

Every screening session brings us one step closer to ensuring more young people have access to potentially life-saving heart checks.

Early detection saves lives, and together we're building a safer future for football across the region.

Congratulations to everyone involved in reaching this important milestone. Here's to the next 200 pla

It’s World Heart Rhythm Week.

Hear from Jasmine Morris, Football Development Officer at North Riding County Football Association, as she shares why they took the initiative to offer ECG screening across their 200+ clubs, how the programme works, and why early cardiac screening matters for players across grassroots football.

A brilliant step towards making football safer and raising awareness of heart rhythm conditions.

Another 20 players screened ⚽️❤️

Working in partnership with the North Riding County Football Association, we recently screened the Bishopthorpe White Rose U14 Girls before the season finished.

ECG screening is available for everybody aged 12+ and takes just 5 minutes per person. Results are then sent directly to parents, or players over 18, within one week.

If you’re interested in booking pre-season ECG screening for your players, get in touch with us: [email protected]

Professor Aneil Malhotra, Consultant Cardiologist and expert in sports cardiology, speaking at the Headmasters’ Conference where we had the opportunity to share our ECG screening project with school staff from across the country.

We continue to share the importance of cardiac screening as we work with more sports clubs, organisations and educational settings — all with the same goal: helping improve early detection and access to potentially life-saving checks.

ECG screening is a non-invasive test that can help detect underlying cardiac abnormalities which may predispose individuals to sudden cardiac arrest, supporting earlier identification and reassurance where it’s needed most.

Why should I or my child have an ECG test?

Every week in the UK, 12 young people (aged between 14-35) die from undiagnosed cardiac conditions. Around 80% of these tragic deaths are from conditions that show no prior warning signs or symptoms beforehand.

An ECG (electrocardiogram) is a simple, non-invasive test that records the electrical activity of the heart. It can help identify certain heart conditions early - sometimes before symptoms appear - giving families the chance to seek further care and potentially prevent tragedy.

Early screening can save lives.

We recently visited Fulford FC Girls U13s to deliver cardiac screening for approximately 15 players aged 12–13 - making them the youngest group we’ve screened to date.

It’s incredibly encouraging to see clubs taking a proactive approach to player welfare, ensuring their athletes have access to preventative cardiac checks from an early age.

What age do we screen from?
We offer ECG screening from age 12 onwards, in line with FIFA guidelines, which recommend screening begins at 12 and is repeated every 2-4 years throughout adolescence.

Providing grassroots players with access to the same level of screening as professionals remains at the heart of what we do.

A simple test could save a life - yet so many in sport have never had access to one.

🎤 Have a listen as Faye Singleton discusses why we started this project and how the latest county FA have got involved. It was great to speak with a local news team from Cumberland FA on the impact of Cumberland FA joining our ECG screening initiative! 👇

This programme is opening up access to cardiac screening for grassroots players, walking football teams, and referees - groups who, until now, have had very limited opportunities to be tested.

Faye said, "Along this journey, I’ve had the privilege of meeting some truly incredible people. A special mention to Ben Snowdon, CEO at Cumberland FA, whose dedication to this project is making a real difference. Through Cumberland FA's Fred Conway Fund, created in memory of their late CEO who died from an undiagnosed cardiac condition, this initiative is helping provide potentially life-saving ECG tests to the community.

What continues to stand out is how many people I meet who have been affected by undetected heart conditions. Nearly every conversation carries a story of loss - and it only strengthens my passion to raise awareness and expand access to this technology."

ECG screening made more accessible for grassroots teams.

Congratulations to North Riding County Football Associationnorthridingfa on being named ‘Sports Initiative of the Year’ at the Yorkshire Prestige Awards 2025/2026. The award recognises their commitment to player welfare through the implementation of ECG heart screening across the women’s football pathway.

The QT Medical 12-lead ECG machine utilises a pre-positioned electrode patch that allows players to apply the device themselves, with clinical data demonstrating equivalence to a hospital-grade test.

This removes traditional barriers to screening and enables all organisations to deliver reliable cardiac screening to young people - without the need for on-site medical teams.
Take a look at our most recent screening session with teams from the York City Football Club Foundation, where we spoke with both a parent and a player following their ECG testing at the event. 👇

Welcome to the CardioLogic Cardiac Screening Initiative.

Our mission is simple. Make heart screening more accessible for young people across the UK.

We are working with sports clubs, colleges, and various organisations to bring cardiac testing directly into local communities.

The project was inspired by CardioLogic employee Faye Singleton after a York City Ladies teammate collapsed due to an undiagnosed heart condition. Thankfully she made a full recovery, but it highlighted how important early screening can be and how access to testing still needs to improve.

Follow our page as we share the incredible clubs and community groups helping to bring cardiac screening to their members.

Smart screening for all hearts. ❤️
