What's coming up over the next few months?

It's a busy one!

September:

27th - We are at the Festival of Neurodiversity - Kaleidoscopic Minds which has been organised by lovely Emily from We Are ND and is being hosted at Exeter Phoenix.
We will be kicking back in the Regulation Play Area with our friends from Teignmouth Neurodiversity Hub. We'll be there all day to hang out with you guys!

29th - Our Berry Nice Picnic is happening on Tuesday. But...it sold out within a couple of days! (The tickets were free, and it never made it out of the whatsapp group!)
Gosh - we feel so lucky that so many people want to hang out with us! Cannot wait for this one!

October:

1st - the big HED Hub launch. Honestly, we're bricking it. This is where we find out if you are loving what we're creating, or we've put $$$ into something that's about to flop!

6th - We're back hosting our regular coffee mornings. This one is at Cantina, 10am - 12pm. All welcome - free to attend.

14th - Find your community coffee morning at Puerto Lounge in Exeter. 10am - 12pm. All welcome - free to attend.

November:

We're going away as a family for the whole of November and so we're looking for people to host our coffee mornings for us. Teignmouth Neurodiversity Hub - do you fancy it again?!

Don't forget - EVERYONE is welcome to our coffee mornings. Mums, Dads, Grandparents, Babies, Dogs - EVERYONE. There are no cliques in our groups, no judgement, no pressure.
Our promise to you is that you will be greeted as soon as you come in with a warm smile. You will be welcomed into our group like an old friend! 🫶🏻

We've been a bit quiet on our socials, sorry!

We've been really busy building HED Hub and enjoying the summer with our daughter.

We are still running our monthly meet ups - one in Cantina and one in Puerto Lounge. We absolutely love getting people together and hearing everyone's stories.

Our next meet up is on Wednesday in Exeter and I really hope that you can join us. Adam and I won't be there this time, but we've got our lovely Sarah from Teignmouth Neurodiversity Hub who has been incredible at holding down the fort whilst we've been away!

At You Can Sit With Us, we don’t…🚫

…care whether you vaccinate, or you don’t 💉

…care whether your children eat organic quinoa bowls or Haribo in the car 🍬

…care whether you follow a curriculum, learn entirely through life, or change your mind every other Tuesday 💻

…care whether you love AI, hate AI, use it every day, or think the whole thing should be launched directly into the sun.

We don’t need everyone in the room to agree!

BUT...we do care about how you treat the person who doesn’t share the same values as you.

We encourage proper conversations.

We encourage listening to someone else’s point of view without immediately reaching for the pitchforks.

We encourage:
“I love that for you.”

Even when it wouldn’t work for you.

Even when you’d make a completely different choice for your own family.

What we don’t do is bullying.

We don’t do cliques.

We don’t do whispering in corners, freezing someone out, or making somebody feel like they’ve walked into a room where everyone already has their seat and they’re the spare part.

If you come to one of our groups on your own we will always make space, because nobody should spend two hours standing awkwardly at the edge of a home ed meet-up wondering whether they’re allowed to join in.

You’re going to meet people from all walks of life, with different families, different opinions, different approaches and different experiences.

You might find your people.

You might meet someone you’d never normally cross paths with.

You might have a conversation that changes your mind.

Or you might still completely disagree at the end of it.

Just don’t be a dick about it.

Hello lovely people 👋🏻

We know it's the summer hols and you've all got wonderful plans, but if you find yourself with an hour or two to spare, come and join us at Puerto Lounge in Exeter for our 'find your community' coffee morning.
