🌟CONGRATULATIONS! 🌟

A huge well done to our fantastic student midwife Claire on supporting the birth of 40 babies 🎉👶💜

Reaching 40 births is a very special milestone in midwifery training, reflecting dedication, compassion and growing confidence in supporting families through one of life’s most important moments.

💬 Student midwives play a vital role in maternity care. They are fully supervised by experienced registered midwives and work closely within the team to ensure safe, high-quality care at all times. For many families, student midwives become a familiar and reassuring presence on their journey 💕

👏 Well done again, Claire, an amazing achievement and a wonderful contribution to our maternity team! Thank you to all our students for your hard work, dedication and the care you bring to every family you support. 💜

🌸 Feedback Friday 🌸

We love hearing from the amazing families we’ve had the privilege to support during their journey 💕

Thank you to Zoe & Steve who sent this lovely feedback and, congratulations on the birth of your little ones.

"I just wanted to take a moment to write and say a truly heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you for being part of the safe arrival of our twins. From those reassuring triage afternoons with Jo, right through to Sarah kindly wheeling me out to the car on Wednesday afternoon, every step of the journey was met with such care, professionalism, and compassion.

You all played such an important role in what could have been an overwhelming experience, but instead you made it feel calm, supported, and genuinely special. We will always remember not just the incredible care we received, but also the kindness, patience, and encouragement you showed us throughout.

Bringing our babies into the world is something we will cherish forever, and we are so grateful that we had such an amazing team by our side to guide us through it. You made the whole experience truly memorable in the best possible way."

We love hearing from the amazing families we’ve had the privilege to support during their journey 💕

Thank you to Rebecca and Samuel who sent this lovely feedback and congratulations on the birth of baby Jamie.

"We welcomed our beautiful baby boy, Jamie Elliott, on his due date, 19.03.26 at 2:10am, at Maidstone Birthing Centre, in the birthing pool weighing 7lbs 2oz. Mummy and baby are both doing well (and daddy too! 🩵)

I can honestly say our experience with Maidstone Birth Centre was incredible from start to finish. As first-time parents, we felt so supported, listened to, and cared for throughout the entire journey. It truly was the birth we had been hoping for, and we feel incredibly grateful.

After labouring at home for 16 hours, we arrived at the birth centre to find I was only 1cm dilated, which was quite disheartening. However, the midwives showed such compassion and understanding. Rather than sending us home, they recognised how much pain I was in and kindly allowed us to stay. That level of care meant so much to us.

Although I wasn’t yet in active labour and couldn’t access pain relief at that stage, I was offered the birthing pool, which made a huge difference. After spending two hours in the water, I progressed quickly to 7cm dilated.

Labour became particularly intense as baby Jamie was back-to-back, and I faced a long and exhausting pushing stage. Despite this, I never felt alone. The support I received from daddy and my midwives Donna and Paris was absolutely outstanding. They were calm, encouraging, and completely in tune with what I needed in each moment. With their guidance, teamwork, and a little help from gas and air, I found the strength to keep going.

Jamie was born in the most magical way. Still in his waters at first, and after one final push, he was placed straight onto my chest. A moment we will never forget.
While the intensity of the labour meant it was challenging at times to stay fully in the calm hypnobirthing mindset we had practised, the breathing techniques were invaluable. The environment the midwives created was peaceful, safe, and empowering, which helped me more than I can put into words.

We are so thankful to the entire team at Maidstone Birth Centre for making our first birth experience so positive and memorable. The care, kindness, and dedication of the midwives made all the difference, and we will always look back on this experience with gratitude."

It's important to see a midwife as early as possible to get the antenatal (pregnancy) care and information you need to have a healthy pregnancy.

You do not need to tell a GP you're pregnant unless you're taking medicine or have a long-term health condition.

Your first midwife appointment should happen before you're 10 weeks pregnant. If you're more than 10 weeks pregnant, you should still refer yourself to start your pregnancy care as soon as possible.

You can refer yourself for pregnancy care from 5 weeks pregnant on our website www.mtw.nhs.uk/maternity/

If you cannot refer yourself online please contact: 01892 638158 or 01892 633488
