Are you frustrated with the scales not moving?
Doing all the right things but it's not showing?
Well here are just a few factors that could be at play (I'll share the rest soon ☺️
Now, I'm a big fan of using the scales!
They are a fantastic tool!
But understanding what they ACTUALLY measure is really important
Weighing scales measure how much you weigh (your body's relationship with the gravitational pull of the earth)
This can be impacted by so many factors such as:
Most of these factors can vary from hour to hour between meals, voiding, changes in temperature, pre and post exercise...
it's a snapshot of a moving target
So are the scales a good indicator of fat changes from day to day...not really!
But long term they are more useful by using a moving average, but they still only tell us so much
So I always encourage people to use multiple measures of success!
This is because the body changes should be measured using a combination of methods such as...
- Scales
- Inches and girths
- Progress photos,
- How you feel
- Exercise performance,etc
These also play a part and should be used to a greater picture of what is going on
So please use a variety of tools to monitor progress
And don't get caught up in day-to-day weight fluctuations...
