Do SATs tell the whole story?
Many parents are asking this at the moment. Year 6 SATs give a snapshot of attainment, but they do not always show how much effort a child needed to put in to achieve those results. I have written a short article on what SATs results do and do not tell us ahead of secondary school transition.

Many parents ask me what the early signs of dyslexia might look like at home or in school.

Some common signs can include:
• Difficulty remembering spellings
• Slow reading despite good understanding when text is read aloud
• Trouble recalling sequences such as days of the week or instructions

These signs don’t automatically mean dyslexia, but they can indicate that a closer look at how a child processes language would be helpful. Early understanding makes a real difference to confidence and learning.
