It was a spectacular accessible Bat evening for wheelers, rollers and some local bat fans at Kearsney Parks with .east.ecology Bat specialists.
We saw and heard common and soprano Pipistrelles, Noctules, which are UK’’s largest resident bat species and daubenton bats with their white belly skimming the surface of the lake as they hunted.
It was fascinating to see them whizzing closely on a cloudy yet mild Septembers night. And a big thank you to for staying open a bit late for our group. And thank you to for providing the bat detectors.
We hope to make night walks a more regular event, and to include viewing the night sky and moon and planets too.
Watch this space or join our group for similar accessible nature adventures.
