Tarot with Gord

Tarot with Gord You've had the deck for ages and still feel like a beginner. That stops here. No fortune telling, no fluff, no figuring it out alone. (I can also read for you!)

I teach you to actually read tarot, your way, with weekly sessions and people who get it. I offer down to earth tarot readings in Manchester for anyone looking for clarity and direction. It does not matter if you have never had a reading before or if you have been to many, you are welcome here. My readings are not about fortune telling or pretending I can predict exactly what will happen in your l

ife. They are about giving you real practical guidance you can use right now and in the weeks and months ahead. When you arrive for a reading, we start with a short grounding meditation. This is not anything intense or overly spiritual unless you want it to be. It is simply a way to help you feel calm, present, and focused before we begin. Life is noisy and busy so taking a moment to breathe and settle makes a huge difference. From there, we explore your questions through the cards in a relaxed and conversational way. I do not read at you while you sit silently unless you prefer that. You can jump in with thoughts, feelings, and extra questions at any time. I believe tarot is a conversation between the cards, you, and me. We work together to make sense of what comes up and find the next steps that feel right for you. People come to see me for all sorts of reasons. Some are going through a big life change such as a career move, a relationship shift, or a relocation and they want clarity before making decisions. Others feel stuck and do not know how to move forward. Some come because they are curious about tarot and want to try it for the first time. Whatever the reason, I want you to leave with more clarity and confidence than you had when you walked in. I also offer guided meditation classes for anyone who wants to build a regular practice or simply take time to reset. You do not need to be spiritual or have any experience with meditation to take part. These sessions are about giving yourself time and space away from the constant distractions of everyday life. They help you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and feel more grounded. Some people come regularly as part of their self care routine, while others drop in when life feels overwhelming and they need a break. My approach to both tarot and meditation is straightforward and practical. I am not here to give you vague statements that could apply to anyone. I want to have a real conversation about your life, your challenges, and your options. I believe tarot can be a powerful tool for reflection and insight when it is handled with care and honesty. It is not about telling you what to do but about showing you different perspectives so you can make your own choices with confidence. If you are new to tarot, you do not need to worry about understanding the cards or knowing what to ask. I will guide you through the process and make sure everything makes sense as we go. If you are more experienced, you will find that I focus less on memorised meanings and more on connecting the cards to what is happening in your life right now. Sessions are collaborative and you can share as much or as little as you want. You are in control of the topics we cover and I will never push you to talk about anything you are not comfortable with. The aim is for you to feel heard, supported, and empowered to take your next steps. Whether you are here because you are in the middle of a major life change, feeling stuck in a situation that will not shift, or just curious about what tarot can offer, you will be met with warmth, understanding, and a safe space to explore what is on your mind. Many people tell me they leave feeling lighter, clearer, and more confident about their future, not because I told them what will happen, but because they were able to see new possibilities and make sense of their own thoughts and feelings. I work with people from all walks of life and all belief systems. You do not need to have any particular spiritual background to benefit from a tarot reading or a meditation class. All you need is an open mind and a willingness to reflect. If you have been thinking about booking a session but have questions or are unsure what to expect, feel free to get in touch. I am always happy to explain more about how I work and help you decide if this is the right step for you. I love what I do because I get to help people see their situations more clearly and feel more confident about the choices ahead of them. Tarot and meditation are tools that can open up new perspectives and help you feel more connected to yourself. If that sounds like something you need right now, I would be honoured to work with you.

I did a career reading the other day and the Three of Cups came up reversed in the strengths position. Upright it’s your people, your circle, the celebration. Reversed, it can be about losing friends, or growing out of them. We got talking, and it pulled out something I’ve been doing for years without noticing. When I started, I made content trying to impress my friends. Some of them get it and that’s lovely. Some of them couldn’t care less what I do, and that’s fine too. The minute I stopped posting for them and started posting for the people I actually want to work with, everything changed. If that’s landing for you, it’s probably because you needed to hear it.

I used to think that the more tarot decks I owned, the better reader I’d be. Complete and utter bu****it.

When I started learning, I was convinced my basic deck was the problem. I bought my first Rider-Waite-Smith. Then I’d see a deck on Instagram, or drop £60 / $75 on an expensive indie deck, and convince myself that this was the one that would finally make everything click.

It didn’t. I worked out I was buying a new deck every month or two. At around £30 / $40 a deck, I was spending at least £15 / $20 a month. The reality is, the more decks you get, the more they just gather dust. Don’t get me wrong, I still have loads of decks now because I bought them out of curiosity and because they’re fu***ng beautiful, but hoarding cardboard is not something that’s going to make you better at Tarot.

When you’ve got a proper community around you, you don’t feel that constant need to keep buying decks to find the answers. Getting better comes from hearing different perspectives from actual people. That is something worth investing in.

That’s exactly why I started the Simply Tarot membership. We get together every week to read for ourselves, read for each other, and talk it out. And it costs £15 / $20 a month, the exact same amount I was wasting on my deck habit.

There’s a detail at the bottom of the Moon that almost everyone misses, and it’s the whole point of the card. Most people never clock what that little figure actually is, or why it’s dragging itself up out of the water. Have a watch. If the Moon keeps turning up for you, this is the bit that’ll make it land.

Someone asked how they test tarot cards at the factory, so against my better judgement I’m about to tell you something I’m really not allowed to tell you. There’s a society. There’s a dark room. There are consequences. And David, with one innocent little comment, has dragged the whole thing into the daylight.

If you don’t hear from me in 24 hours, you know why, and you know who to blame.

So there’s a symbol hiding on three of your tarot cards, and Waite didn’t put it there by accident. He used the same mark on purpose to link them together. That’s the bit I love about Rider-Waite-Smith, nothing in it is random. It’s exactly the kind of thing we pull apart every week in my membership. The link’s in my bio too if you want in.

The tower tarot meaning, and almost everyone reads it as their own fault. It isn’t.

Look at the lightning. That’s the cause of the whole disaster, completely outside your control. You didn’t do anything wrong, and there’s nothing to fix.

It’s like the tornado in the Wizard of Oz. Dorothy can’t stop it. She gets out of the way, and the same storm carries her all the way to Oz.

When you pull the Tower, stop blaming yourself. Get out of the way and ride it.

What card does everyone read wrong?

How to read two tarot cards together is the question I get asked more than almost anything, and the real answer surprises people.

There’s no fixed way.

The Devil sitting on top of the Hierophant says the Devil is blocking your access to your source of truth. Flip the order and it says something’s hoodwinking you while masking itself as a trusted source.

Same two cards, completely different read.

11/06/2026

Nobody talks about the fact that the Beast in the Devil card is actively mocking the Hierophant.

That hand gesture is a direct reverse of the Hierophant’s blessing. Waite wrote it that way on purpose, in his own notes. It’s not interpretation, it’s intentional design.

The Hierophant is the Pope, the President, the Librarian with the keys to truth. The Devil wears that same authority like a costume and uses it to keep you chained.

What’s a card you think everyone reads completely wrong?

The Eight of Swords isn’t the doom card everyone thinks it is.

Look closer.

Arms bound, eyes covered, swords all around. But the legs are completely free. And the word Waite used for this card wasn’t blindfolded, it was hoodwinked. Hoodwinked means deceived.

That’s the bit people miss. Deception. You’ve been tricked into believing you can’t move, when you could the whole time. And most of the time, the one who did the tricking is you.

What’s a card you think people read completely wrong?

That fear of reading the cards wrong is what keeps you tied to the guidebook, and this workshop is all about it. Sunday 28 June, an hour live on Zoom. We read a few cards together and you watch the same card get read ten different ways, none of them wrong. You leave trusting your own reading, with a daily practice to keep building it.

Can’t make it live? The replay’s yours to keep.
