Health Improvement Team Moray

Health Improvement Team Moray Welcome to the Health Improvement Team Moray page.

The Health Improvement Team aims to enable people and communities to improve their health and wellbeing by addressing the wider determinants of health. We do this through supporting the Moray Health and Social Care Partnership in embedding prevention and health improvement as part of its core business. We collaborate with our partners in the planning and implementation of health improvement activi

ties, based on an understanding of the local population needs. We actively work to improve the circumstances which have an impact on health such as poverty, housing, education and employment, in order to create the conditions for individuals and communities to improve their own health and reduce inequalities. For free, confidential health advice on a range of health and wellbeing topics you can speak to a healthpoint advisor. Get in touch by visiting the healthpoint at Dr Grays Hospital, Elgin, IV30 1SN (opening hours may vary), call the free NHS Grampian healthline Monday - Friday 9.00am - 5.00pm on 08085 20 20 30 or send us an email at [email protected]

Most children and young people are given the flu vaccine as a nasal spray into each nostril.
It’s quick and easy. There’s no need to sniff or inhale the vaccine, it’ll just feel like a tickle in their nose.

🎭 LIVE THEATRE PERFORMANCE | 30 SEPTEMBER 2026

We’re pleased to share an opportunity to attend “I Love You Mum, I Promise I Won’t Die”, a powerful and thought-provoking play from the Daniel Spargo-Mabbs Foundation.

Based on a true story, the performance explores the realities of young people and drugs with honesty and compassion. It creates space for conversations that can sometimes be difficult, helping us to listen, understand and think about how we can better support young people and families.

The evening is open to young people aged 13+, parents, carers and professionals.

🤝 5.30pm – Marketplace of local support and activity providers
🎭 6.00pm – Performance begins
☕ Tea and coffee provided by young baristas from Elgin Academy

Alongside the performance, there will be opportunities to connect with local organisations, find out what support is available and access information in a welcoming environment.

📅 Wednesday 30 September 2026

🎟️ Free to attend – booking is required:
Book your place here - https://www.eventbrite.com/e/i-love-you-mum-i-promise-i-wont-die-tickets-1997681991613

Knowing what to do in an overdose emergency could save someone's life.

If you think someone is overdosing:

• Call 999 immediately.
• Give naloxone if opioids may be involved.
• Stay with the person.
• If they are unconscious but breathing, place them in the recovery position.
• Wait with them until emergency services arrive.

Every minute matters.

Please take a few moments to look through these slides and consider sharing them with others.

Today is International Overdose Awareness Day.

Naloxone is a safe medicine that can temporarily reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, giving someone valuable time until an ambulance arrives.

It is free to access in Moray and could save someone's life.

Together we can reduce harm, prevent overdose deaths and support our communities.
