Words from Picture of Some people living with depression experience it in very different ways. 🎗️
• Some cannot get out of bed. Some can.
• Some cannot keep a job. Some can.
• Some struggle to eat. Some don’t.
• Some can’t stop eating. Some can.
• Some self‑harm. Some don’t.
• Some feel suicidal. Some don’t.
• Some take medication. Some don’t.
• Some have more bad days than others.
• Some have stronger support systems than others.
During Su***de Prevention Month 🎗️, it’s important to remember that depression is not one single experience. There’s a general cluster of symptoms, but it shows up differently in every person. You can’t always see it on someone’s face, in the supermarket, at work, or at the gym. Depression doesn’t always announce itself, and people who are hurting deeply often look “fine” on the outside.
This month is a reminder to look beyond assumptions, to listen without judgement, and to avoid adding to stigma. Compassion, awareness, and understanding save lives — not stereotypes. 🎗️🎗️🎗️
