The view from the office this evening.....

Tonight, in the beautiful gardens of Quinton Rectory, we held space under the Willow, to welcome and work with the energy of the New Moon in Cancer.

The new moon in Cancer, teaches us about how life ebbs and flows, and uncovers our emotions, insights and vulnerabilities, weaving her magic quietly in the darkness, gently awakening the parts of us that are ready to heal and be released.

The moon in her home sign of Cancer holds an encouraging and supportive energy, calling us home to ourselves, to step fully into our power and authentically acknowledge our truth.

Cancer’s big themes are home, family and comfort, asking us to consider where we feel most at home and safe. She guides us to set intentions that bring us back into a place of love, care, truth, power, trust and alignment within ourselves.

So I have to question my own authenticity, whilst teaching from this beautiful spot.

Is it time to practice what I preach and take the massive leap from a successful and comfortable, yet terribly pressured and stressful career in Software Programme Management, to a slower more soul nourishing pace of life?

And if not now, when? I manage change every day, I teach regular yoga classes, guiding others to let go of what holds them back, to embrace their dreams and desires. But what is it that I'm afraid of letting go of?

A conversation with someone very dear to me this evening, reminded me of this image another friend shared recently.

For me it has many levels of resonance, and the reminder of the strength of many females I know, of my own mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who always rose above life's challenges, with grace and dignity. And of course, the ultimate mother.

Today, more than usual, I feel the need for sisterhood and to stand up to the patriarchy, organised religion and all the bu****it that they have tried to rule over us and own us with for centuries.

All set up for my final 27 Sun Salutations, followed by meditation and restorative practice as the light of the longest day fades and the sun sets.

The wheel of the year has turned, so if you haven't already, take some time to reflect on how far you've come and what you need to focus on for the rest of the year.

Goodnight and Namaste πŸ™

This coming Sunday, the 21st of June, is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year. It is also International Yoga Day and of course Father’s Day.

Traditionally yoga practitioners engage in performing 108 sun salutations, on this day, as a way to honour the sun and harness its energy, whilst also recognising the symbolic significance of the number 108. The number 108 is considered sacred as it is often associated with wholeness, completeness, and the universe's dimensions.

In yoga, 108 sun salutations are believed to be a way to connect with the divine, purify the body and mind, and cultivate inner peace and mindfulness. So, I'm setting myself a challenge to do 18 Sun Salutations, every 3 hours between 6am and 9pm.

(6am, 9am, 12pm, 3pm, 6pm, 9pm - 6 x18=108)

If you’d like to join in, and depending on how you are feeling perhaps you could try 2 rounds of 54, or 4 rounds of 27 or 9 rounds of 12, or just as many as you like!

Remember there are several variations and you can even perform them standing with the support of a chair, kneeling or even seated. (If you want a printed guide on the variants let me know :)) And if you do join in, please share your pics or clips. :)

πŸŒ‘πŸŒ‘ New Moon in Gemini - Monday 15th June 2026 at 3:54am BST πŸŒ‘πŸŒ‘

Today's new moon sits in the Zodiac sign of Gemini and is all about possibility and power. It's time to tear up the script and view your life and think in new ways. Instead of calling us to stillness, and quiet reflection the new moon in Gemini can be conflicting and a busy time, especially with our thoughts, so you may feel overwhelmed, perhaps worrying about worst case scenarios, over analysing situations or even overreacting or allowing our thoughts to ruminate.

We need to be mindful of how our inner dialogue can shape our beliefs and in turn create our own inner reality: our view of the world. The Gemini New Moon is asking us to move on from these old, negative ways of thinking and use the waxing period to reset, start over and move forward. To see our world differently.

So be very clear with the intentions you set and use the time of the new moon to manifest these intentions remembering the power your thoughts and beliefs have to shape your reality. Make a mental note, or even write down what, where and who can help you realise your ambition and clearly communicate to the universe what it is you want.

It’s also a moon for communication and to get things done, so get out there and grow! So trust your intuition and instincts to guide you to what and where you need to be, to deliver you to the right people, the right place and at the right time.

Once in a Blue Moon: Today's full Moon in Sagittarius, is a rare blue moon, meaning it is the second full moon in a month, this happens due to a lunar month being 29.5 days. So every 2 to 3 years we will either get 13 Full moons or 13 New Moons, hence the familiar saying once in a blue moon....

We can use the time of the Full Moon to reflect and release what we have outgrown and what is holding us back. The sign of Sagittarius is courageous and adventurous, passionate and fiery, and when coupled with the rarity of a blue moon, this creates an opportunity to push yourself beyond your comfort zone and do something you normally wouldn’t or go after something that’s always felt out of reach. So take some time out today to reflect on what is holding you back and use the energy of this full moon to release it.

Those of you who have attended one of my moon bathing yoga classes, will know that we write down on a piece of paper what it is we wish to release, then set fire to it (with due precautions of course) and visualise releasing this as the paper turns to ash.

On that note, I'm sorry to my "moon bathees", that I haven't held a moon bath in some time, but something keeps coming up! Today, I'm journeying to Wales to support my Mum and Sisters as my step dad is still in hospital, thankfully but gradually he is getting better. And, I am grateful that I am being chauffer driven, by my eldest son H, as I write this post, which feels a well earned luxury after all the years of being a Mum Taxi.

Dates for June:
πŸ§˜β€β™‚οΈ Hatha Yoga will be held each Tuesday in June at 7:30pm. Β£10 PAYG or Β£7.50 if you can commit to 4 classes.
🫢 Self-Care Sunday - Rest and Restore, will be on Sunday 21st, I'm happy to start at 4pm or 5pm depending on what works best for the majority.
🌚 New Moon - Rest and Renew practice in Emma's lovely garden studio in Quinton on Wednesday the 13th at 7pm.

Please message me for further information or to book any of the above. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

πŸŒ™πŸŒ™πŸŒ™ The new moon rises in Capricorn at 2:52pm Today πŸŒ™πŸŒ™πŸŒ™

A new moon marks both an ending and a beginning and like a new year, brings the feeling of starting afresh, a time to reflect on what has been and where we want to go next, it is a time to plant the seeds of intention. To ask ourselves, β€œwhat can I change, what can I do to be closer to my goals, and to who I truly want to be?”.

January’s new moon in Capricorn is about ambition and determination; she is guiding us to make our dreams our reality. It's not a time for daydreaming but becoming very focused on what we want in life and how we are going to get it and is timed perfectly for the New Year. This grounded and earthy new moon is like fertile soil, perfect to plant the seeds and set our intentions for the year ahead.

It’s a time to focus inward and listen to what we are being pulled towards and what stirs within, as this will help create a base for the rest of the year, allowing our dreams, and desires to become our reality. The intentions we set under this lunation are the creations that offer us the fulfilment we yearn: meaning, purpose, remembering, realness, richness and truth.

Try to find sometime today to rest and invite stillness, to mindfully set intentions not only for the coming lunar cycle or the year ahead. Help to manifest your intentions by writing them down and include two or three actions and positive affirmations. Maybe sit quietly with a candle and allow yourself to visualise, how you will look and how you will feel as you make your dreams reality. If you work with crystals, use a smoky quartz for strong foundations and or carnelian for ambition and drive.

Like the tides, many of us feel aligned to the phases of the moon, with the dark skies, is a time to rest, the new moon a time for renewal, rebirth and intention setting. The full moon, the feeling of greater energy, being more active into the night and at its peak a time to reflect and let go.

β€œRest is Sacred” and if you would like to work with the energies of the lunar cycle, please come along to my new moon rest and renew and full moon relax and release gatherings, held on a Wednesday and a Sunday, closest to the new and full moon. Message me for more details.
