Lifespan Integration training is trauma-informed and delivered with care. Support and grounding practices are built into the training, and practice exercises and demonstrations are handled safely by the trainer and facilitators. Many therapists with lived experience of trauma attend Lifespan Integration training. Because the material can sometimes resonate on a personal level, you are encouraged to remain mindful of your own support needs.

If you have questions about whether this training is the right fit for you at this time, we encourage you to reach out to the training team for guidance and support before enrolling.

In 2002 Peggy Pace discovered Lifespan Integration as a method to work with adults who were traumatised or neglected during childhood.

Since then, the uses of LI have expanded and LI is now being used by therapists in many countries around the world to treat a variety of disorders and distress. Lifespan Integration is a relatively new therapy but has a research base to clinically evidence its effectiveness.

Due to its continuity of successful outcomes, the therapy continues to spread and expand across the world. In addition to this, LI underpins its theoretical basis from current neuroscience and neuropsychology research.

“For the past 8 years, LI has been the mainstay of my work with clients.”

This heartfelt reflection captures what many therapists experience when working with Lifespan Integration, a gentle yet deeply transformative approach that helps clients move beyond cognitive understanding and into true embodied healing.

By combining active imagination, timelines, and the felt sense, LI supports clients in recognising that trauma is no longer happening in the present.

Therapists often witness clients developing a stronger sense of self, deeper self-understanding, and a greater ability to move toward their full potential.

Powerful work. Gentle approach. Lasting change.

Lifespan Integration (LI) is a modern, body-mind based therapy approach used by trained mental health professionals to work with experience across the whole system, with attention to time, continuity, and nervous system awareness.

Level 2 training is offered to practitioners who have previously completed Level 1. It provides an opportunity to deepen understanding of the LI framework and further explore how the approach is used in clinical contexts, as described by trained practitioners.

This in-person training takes place across two full days in London, offering a structured learning environment that supports professional development and ongoing reflection within the LI model.

Training details

Dates: 30 May & 31 May 2026
Venue: London Shambhala Meditation Centre, 27 Belmont Close, London, SW4 6AY
Eligibility: Open to practitioners who have completed Lifespan Integration Level 1

Level 2 training is designed for therapists who want to deepen their understanding of Lifespan Integration and build greater confidence using intermediate LI protocols.

As the next step in the Lifespan Integration training pathway, Level 2 helps practitioners expand their clinical skills when working with complex trauma, attachment wounds and early developmental experiences.

Over two days, this training supports therapists in moving beyond the foundations of LI and developing a more nuanced understanding of how the approach works within the nervous system.

By the end of Level 2 training, you will be able to:

• Work more confidently with complex trauma presentations
• Support clients whose systems become dysregulated or overwhelmed
• Understand when and how to introduce intermediate LI protocols
• Deepen your attunement skills while remaining regulated as a therapist
• Strengthen treatment planning using a deeper understanding of LI
• Support the integration of earlier developmental and attachment-based experiences

Level 2 helps therapists move from simply understanding the structure of Lifespan Integration to becoming more fluent and intuitive in applying it within clinical practice.

Lifespan Integration training is designed as a progressive learning pathway, with each level building on the last to develop confidence, clinical understanding, and fluency in the LI approach.

Level 1 — Foundations of Lifespan Integration it introduces the core principles of Lifespan Integration and the foundational timeline method.

You will learn to understand core LI concepts, use the basic timeline protocol, begin structured memory integration work, and apply LI within a trauma-informed framework

Level 2 — Deepening Skills and Clinical Application it builds on the foundations by introducing intermediate protocols and strengthening clinical confidence. This stage focuses on refining therapeutic presence, improving attunement, and expanding understanding across different client presentations.

Therapists develop the ability to work with more complex trauma, use intermediate LI protocols, support dysregulated client systems, and strengthen LI-based treatment planning

Level 3 — Working with Complex and Developmental Trauma focuses on applying LI within more complex contexts, including developmental trauma and long-standing relational patterns. Therapists explore how early attachment and developmental experiences shape present-day patterns.

Training includes working with developmental and attachment trauma, understanding long-standing nervous system patterns, integrating LI into longer-term therapy, and upporting deeper lifespan integration

Level 4 — Advanced Integration and Clinical Mastery represents advanced training, where therapists refine clinical judgment and deepen their use of LI. The focus is on integrating advanced techniques while working with subtle nervous system processes and complex dynamics.

Therapists continue developing greater fluency and flexibility with LI, advanced clinical insight, and skills for nuanced, layered presentations

The Lifespan Integration pathway supports therapists in gradually building both technical skill and clinical confidence within a trauma-informed framework.

Many therapists who attend Lifespan Integration training have lived experience of trauma themselves.

Personal experience can sometimes deepen a therapist’s sensitivity to the nervous system, attachment dynamics and the impact of early experiences. At the same time, it is important to approach training with awareness of your own support needs.

During Lifespan Integration training, therapists are encouraged to reflect on their own capacity for the material and to ensure they have appropriate support in place.

This may include:
• Ongoing clinical supervision
• Personal therapy if needed
• Taking the learning process at a pace that feels manageable

Lifespan Integration training is designed for qualified professionals, and maintaining your own support network is considered an important part of ethical and sustainable practice.

A complicated system is something like a watch or an engine. If one part breaks, you can remove it, replace it, and the whole thing works again. Each piece has a specific function, and fixing the part fixes the system.

But human beings aren’t complicated systems. We’re complex systems.

In a complex system, everything is interconnected. You can’t simply remove one “broken” part and expect the whole to function perfectly again. The self is always operating as an integrated whole, constantly working to find balance within the entire system.

In complex systems theory, change doesn’t happen by swapping out parts. Instead, when you gently influence one area, the whole system reorganises itself around that new information.

Many therapies approach people as if they are complicated systems — targeting isolated symptoms and trying to “fix” them. This is often why change doesn’t fully hold.

Lifespan Integration recognises that we are complex, living systems. Rather than forcing change, it offers a gentle nudge — allowing the whole system to reorganise, integrate, and restore balance naturally.

That’s what makes it so powerful.
